"Reese, wake up, it's time for school," I heard my mom say.

I opened my eyes, and saw her sitting next to me on my bed.

I groaned, and said, "What time is it?"

"It's 6:30. You missed the bus, so I'm driving you. I have a waffle ready to eat, so get washed and dressed."

Mom left my room, and I stumbled out of bed to my dresser. I grabbed the first shirt I could find, and some sweatpants.

After putting those on, I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and walked downstairs.

"What shirt even is that, sweetie?" I heard mom ask me.

"I don't know..." I looked down and saw my Godsmack T-Shirt I'd gotten from my dad.

"Oh....I'm not changing now, I just came downstairs."

Mom laughed, and said, "That's fine, just eat your waffle and we can leave."

I wolfed down the waffle, and downed my orange juice. "Alright, let's go!" I said, sounding oddly cheery.

It startled me too.

"Whoa, why are you so happy? You're usually little-miss-grumpy this early," mom teased.

"I'm just excited for drama club after school. Augustus and I are going to do a scene from Macbeth, I think."

"Ooh, sounds fun."

I grabbed mom's keys and tossed them to her. "Catch!" I said, smiling.

She caught them and grinned.

We left the house, and got in the car. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket, and plugged into the USB. I went onto YouTube, and found some Twenty One Pilots to put on.

I closed my eyes, and tried to get lost in the music. It reminded me that I wanted to invite Augustus to my recital at the end of the year....gosh, I couldn't get him out of my head.

"Reese, we're here. Have a good day at school," mom said.

I opened my eyes, and leaned over to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Bye, mom. Caroline's mom's driving me home after drama club."

"OK, bye!"

I opened my door, and hopped out of the car.

I walked towards the entrance of the school, and felt someone grab my arm.

"Hey! What's the tea with Augustus?" I heard Caroline ask.

"Well...we had a moment."

"OH MY GOSH! Tell me everything!"

"Um, we were talking about The Fault In Our Stars, and our eyes met, and we felt a spark..."

"Ooh, saucy," Caroline joked.

"Shush! Oh, and, and before he left, he kissed me on the head."

"Aw, that's so sweet!" Caroline said, smiling.

"Oh, listen, I've got Homeroom with Mr. Whittles. I'll see you at lunch?" I said.

"Yep! See ya!"

Caroline dashed down the hall, and I walked to class, thinking about Augustus.

I couldn't wait for this afternoon.

I sat in the music room, waiting for Augustus. I fiddled with my thumbs, then pulled out my phone to check the time.
