Jaykit!

---------------------------

Breezepaw fell to the ground dramatically. A flurry of tiny paws and soft fluffy kit fur filled his vision. "Sunclan can never be beat!" Jaykit yowled from on top of Breezepaw.

He chuckled at the kits pride for Sunclan. Today was the day. The day that he left Sunclan and didn't return for Starclan knows how long. He decided to spend his last day in camp playing with Snowdrop's kits after he had finished training with Reedsong.

The sun was already setting as the kits swarmed over Breezepaw's body. "Jaykit! Dewkit! Its time to go to sleep," Snowdrop called from the nursery.

Jaykit and Dewkit grumbled before scampering after their mother. "Goodnight kits!" he called to them. Dewkit turned around and gave him a big smile, "Thank you for playing with us today." Breezepaw purred, "Your welcome. Now go on before Snowdrop gets mad."

Dewkit purred before bounding into the nursery. Breezepaw sighed and sat down to look at the sun as it set. "Are you coming to the den," Beepaw meowed as he padded up to his brother.

Breezepaw sighed, "I think I might sleep out here, under the stars. The den kind of makes me feel trapped sometimes. But you go ahead. I hope I'm not stopping you." Beepaw purred, "I was just checking on you. Well goodnight Breezepaw, see you at dawn."

Breezepaw felt his chest ache. "Yeah see you then," he meowed painfully. Beepaw flicked his tail as he trotted away to the apprentices den. Breezepaw looked down at his paws. I can't believe Starclan is making me do this. I'm going to miss them so much.

He sat there for a long while as the moon began to rise high into the sky. Breezepaw huffed as he rose to his paws. It was time. He looked around the camp, taking in every little detail.

I will be back as soon as I can. Breezepaw sighed and walked towards the dirtplace tunnel to leave. He quickly made his way out of the camp walls and into the forest.

Breezepaw made sure to make a wide circle around Haredash, who was on watch, so that he wouldn't be heard or seen. Once he was well away from the camp he took off at a fast paced run.

The forest was a blurt as he ran. His nose picked up the strong scent of Shadeclan as he crossed over the border. He made sure to stay on the outskirts of their territory so he for sure wouldn't be seen.

He slowed to a trot when he heard the gurgle of water. Soon a small stream appeared before. He looked around, wondering where he should go next. Then he saw it. Across the stream was the wide open moor. The same moor he had looked out at from atop of the oak tree back in Sunclan's territory.

He longed to go over there. He had to. Breezepaw hesitantly walked up to the edge of the stream. He took a deep breath and leaped. His paws hit the other bank with a thud. He had made it across safely. Thank Starclan for his long legs or he would have ended up in the water.

Breezepaw took off running across the vast open area. He loved the wind that blew through his fur and the springy grade underneath is paws.

Suddenly he saw a silhouette of a cat ahead of him. Dawnpaw! He ran faster to get to the she-cat as quick as possible. Once he was close enough to talk to her the scent of blood hit his nostrils.

"What happened?" he meowed nervously, glancing around cautiously. Dawnpaw sighed, "Its a long story. I'll tell you when we get to the den."

Breezepaw cocked his head, "Den? But we haven't even been here for more than a few minutes." "I will tell you the story when we get to the den," she reminded him. He felt suspicion and curiosity creep over him. I do I know I can trust her. I mean she is from another clan and maybe she is leading me into a trap!

As she started to pad away Breezepaw kept his paws firmly placed to the ground. Dawnpaw looked back at him with narrowed eyes. "I'm not leading you into a trap, I promise," she meowed. Breezepaw heard the amount of honesty in her voice and decided to follow her.

It seemed like moons before she stopped beside two large boulders that were leaning against each other. Dawnpaw looked back at him before crawling into a small crevice at the bottom of the boulders.

Breezepaw hesitated but took a deep breath, reminding himself that he wasn't being tricked. He followed close behind her into the crevice.

Inside was quite small and cramped. The soil felt damp and there were a few small rocks here and there. At the back of the make shift den were two nests. It looked like it took great effort to fit both nests into the tight area.

Dawnpaw climbed into a nest that was closest to the back of the den and sat down. Breezepaw mimicked her and sat down in the other nest, which was closest to the entrance to the den.

"I got here yesterday, that's why I already found a make shift den and I had some spare time to make nests," Dawnpaw began. "But why? I mean I could barely leave on the right day. How could you leave early," Breezepaw asked in complete disbelief and confusion.

Dawnpaw sighed and looked at her paws, "My mother made me upset so I ran out of camp and then I came in contact with a fox. Thank Starclan it was young because if it wasn't I would have been crowfood for sure. But anyways since there was the scent if blood and fox in that area I decided that it would be a perfect time to leave. I mean Starclan wanted us to seem like we're dead."

Breezepaw cocked his head thoughtfully, "Well now I know I'm not going on some random journey with a bird-brain." Dawnpaw chuckled, "Thanks, I guess."

Breezepaw watched as the beautiful tortoiseshell she-cat sighed and curled up in her nest. Her long fluffy tail gently rapper around her body and covered her nose. Before following her lead he glanced at her.

From the first time he saw her at a gathering he thought she was the most beautiful she-cat alive. Even Beepaw thought the same thing. Just everything about her was beautiful. You can't think like that Breezepaw! She is from another clan, we are just here to fulfill Starclan's wishes.

He sighed and curled up into a tight ball. He closed his eyes and dryer to think about something else other than the beautiful Shadeclan she-cat that lay close by.
