Beepaw!!!!

-------------------------

Breezepaw's eyes flew open. He was standing in his nest with moss scattered everywhere and his fur was spiked up in all different directions.

Fernpaw lifted her head sleepily from where she lay in her nest. "What's wrong with you? I think you practically woke up the whole clan," she growled in an annoyed voice.

Breezepaw relaxed and let his fur lay flat. "Sorry Fernpaw. I'll be quiet while you go back to sleep," he whispered. Fernpaw snorted and went back to sleep.

He looked around the den. The only cats in the den were Beepaw, Fernpaw, and himself. Breezepaw shook himself violently. He had just awoken from the weirdest and most shocking dream ever.

He was just in Starclan! Berrysplash had come to give him a message. She said something about making two other clans and that he had to leave Sunclan in three sunrises to go meet Dawnpaw on the moor. What am I supposed to tell my family? Oh wait, I can't tell them anything. Why did they pick me? I'm only an apprentice! Plus I'm supposed to become a warrior soon.

He sighed and sat down in his nest. He sat there thinking about how he was going to do this. How he was going to just suddenly leave. If this was such a serious mission then he needed to make sure he left without a trace of where he was going. Like Berrysplash said, no one must know.

A prickle of excitement flowed through him. But what soon replaced by fear. What if we meet a badger or a fox! Or what if we can't do what Starclan asks of us? Oh stop it Breezepaw, you have to have the right mindset or your going to get yourself killed.

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted when Reedsong poked his head inside of the apprentices den. "Come on, we're on the dawn patrol," the black tom meowed.

Breezepaw huffed but didn't argue. I will figure all of that out later I guess. Reedsong and Breezepaw padded over to the rest of the dawn patrol, which consisted of Goldenflower and Haredash.

"Alright lets go," Goldenflower meowed. Breezepaw ran steadily beside Reedsong as they went out into the forest. For some reason the cover of the tall oak trees always made him uneasy and he always felt trapped.

That's why he liked to climb up to the very top of every tree to get a glimpse of the sky. Suddenly the scent if rabbit tickled his nose. Alreday knowing exactly where it was he darted off to the right.

The rabbit squealed and tried to run away but Breezepaw was faster. His paws slammed onto the small animal and immediately snapping its neck.

He took his paws off of the rabbit to grab it in his mouth and carry it back to the patrol. Goldenflower had stopped the patrol to wait on him expectantly.

As soon as he emerged into the open they all purred. "Good catch Breezepaw," Reedsong praised. "I think your the fastest cat in both of the clans. I mean, I can't run that fast and I'm named after a hare," Haredash joked. They all laughed.

Breezepaw buried the rabbit before following after the patrol. Throughout the whole patrol all he could focus on was Berrysplashs message.

There was one time he didn't pay attention and almost fell into the river. Reedsong had scorned him and told him to pay closer attention.

They were now nearing the camp after the long patrol was done. Breezepaw still wasn't paying attention and ran face first into Smokefur, who was on guard. "Watch where your going," Smokefur growled.

Breezepaw nodded and quickly apologized. He sighed as he received a annoyed glance from Reedsong. Today just wasn't the day to be dealing with all of this stuff.

All of a sudden he remembered he had left his rabbit back in the forest. "Reedsong, I'm going to go get the rabbit," Breezepaw called to his mentor.

"You weren't even paying attention to notice that Haredash already got it. What is up with you today Breezepaw?" Reedsong growled. Breezepaw felt embarrassment and shame creep over him. "I'm sorry Reedsong. I have just been distracted by something today, but I promise it won't happen again," he meowed.

Reedsong snorted, "It better not or I will have to put you on tick duty." As his mentor walked away Breezepaw sighed. I need to focus for the next couple of days. I mean after I leave I won't see my family for Starclan knows how long.

Breezepaw shook out his pelt, trying to get rid of the doubtful feeling he had. He padded over to the fresh-kill pile and picked out a plump thrush. He saw Beepaw and Fernpaw sitting beside Briarwing and Lionfur. Perfect! Now I can spend time with them.

He hurried over to them and sat beside Beepaw. "I heard that you did horrible on the dawn patrol today," Fernpaw meowed nastily. Breezepaw scowled at her, "Oh shut up Fernpaw! If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. And if you can't do that then I might have to stuff mouse-dung in your mouth to make you stop talking."

Beepaw burst out laughing at his retort. Fernpaw bared her teeth at them both before going back to talking to Briarwing. "That was like a true gift from Starclan right there," Beepaw meowed between large laughing fits.

Breezepaw chuckled, "It had to be said. Her words can sting like a bee sometimes. I mean I felt real bad for Tigerpaw at the gathering a few sunrises back when she said how he should be named after his father. She just needs to keep her mouth shut." Beepaw nodded with agreement then went back to eating his mouse.

Breezepaw also went to eating his thrush. He was going to make the best out of the next three days and nothing was going to get in his way.
