Angel!!
--------------------
Breezepaw prodded a mouse with his paw. He wasn't hungry at the moment. He was too focused on something else. Or someone else.
He always thought Dawnpaw was beautiful and very attractive and probably the most beautiful she-cat he had ever seen. But after today, things changed. Once he layed eyes on her perfect white pelt and beautiful blue eyes his heart started beating as fast as a rabbit could run.
Breezepaw had only known her for not even a full day and he was in love with her. As soon as he saw her he knew he loved her. She was just so perfect. The way she talked, the way she hunted, the way she did anything was indescribably graceful and beautiful.
Dawnpaw sat beside him eagerly tearing at a plump shrew. "Are you just not going to listen to me at all," she growled. Breezepaw sighed and rested his tired head on his paws. "I'm trying Dawnpaw. Its just so hard when such a perfect cat is a fox-lengths away from me. She literally looks like a gift from Starclan," he meowed dreamingly.
Dawnpaw rolled her eyes, "Breezepaw, we are on a mission, no getting attached. Besides, we are warriors to be and she is a rogue. That's like a disaster waiting to happen."
Breezepaw sighed and continued to look at the precious she-cat. Until Sparrow blocked his view. The apprentice looked up at Sparrow. "You two follow me," the brown and white tom growled in an icy tone. Breezepaw nervously glanced at Dawnpaw. Her fur was spiked up nervously.
Breezepaw was tense as he followed Sparrow. The tom led the two apprentices to an old badger den. "You two will sleep here. Don't expect anyone to make you nests. Your prisoners here, not guests," Sparrow growled. Breezepaw felt angered at the toms rude tone. But he obeyed without a word.
Breezepaw curled up beside Dawnpaw. The sun was completely hidden by the horizon when Breezepaw finally fell into a peaceful sleep.
*----------------*
Breezepaw huffed as a paw prodded him sharply in his ribs. "Just let me sleep until dawn," he growled without opening his eyes. "Wake up you furball," a voice as sweet as honey meowed. Breezepaw, realizing who it was, flew his eyes open.
He stared wordlessly up at the pretty white face and glowing blue eyes. "Come on. Lets go hunt before every other cat wakes up," Angel purred. Breezepaw stumbled to his paws without hesitation. He looked down to make sure he hadn't woke Dawnpaw before following after Angel.
He didn't dare speak a word as he followed her out of the rogue camp, too scared he would say something mouse-brained. "So have you ever hunted on the moor?" she asked, glancing back at him. He shook his head. "I guess I have to teach you," she sighed playfully.
Breezepaw brought himself to stiffle a purr. Angel stopped at the top of a rolling hill. "Do you remember what I did yesterday?" she asked. He nodded. "Good. I want you to catch me a rabbit," she meowed energetically.
He glanced at her nervously. But he didn't argue. Breezepaw cracked open his jaws to scent the air. Rabbit flowed onto his tongue. After a few moments he saw a small hare hop out of a nearby rabbit hole.
He dropped into a crouch and stalked around his prey. He made sure he was down wind from it and that he made a wide enough circle around it so the rabbit wouldn't hear him. Breezepaw kept his gaze fixed on his prey as he crept forward. The hare still didn't know that there was a car stalking it.
Once he was ready Breezepaw dashed forward. The rabbit squealed and ran. The hare was fast but Breezepaw knew he was faster. He felt a knew energy surge through him. It was like nothing he had felt before. He felt like he was one with the wind.
He felt like he could do anything. The wind wiped through his fur as he closed the distance between the rabbit and him. Breezepaw took a deep breath and leaped. He felt his class sink into the rabbits skin as he landed squarely on top of it.
Breezepaw quickly ended the hares life with a swift bite to the neck. Angel ran up to him with a delighted gleam in her eyes. "That was amazing for your first time!" she purred. Breezepaw purred and picked the rabbit up in his jaws.
Angel's ears suddenly went a bright pink. Breezepaw could sense her nervousness. "What's wrong?" he meowed through the rabbit. She shuffled her paws in the dirt, "U-umm well I have something to tell you. I..."
"Angel!" some cat yowled, cutting off what Angel was going to say. The white she-cat pricked her ears. "Its Mud, he's probably wondering where I've been. He gets protective sometimes," Angel purred. Breezepaw nodded and followed behind her as they padded back to camp. The whole way there he had a tinge of curiosity of what Angel was going to say.
