MITCH'S POV

A month is far to long. She could be dead to all I know! But we have to keep trying.

No other battles had happened since the day Hanza had been taken, and I've gotten out of my mourning faze. But what I'm more worried about is Jerome, he won't come out of his room and isn't eating. I slip food under his door but I never actually know if he eats it.

Today I'm trying again, if he doesn't come out I'm getting and axe and cutting it down.

The last few steps are the worst, his room is opposite of Hanza's, which leads me to glance at her open door, seeing Sky stare out of her window at the ocean a few chucks away.

"Jerome first." I whisper, and knock on his door.

"Go away." His voice was hoarse and scratchy, like he had been crying.

"Jerome... Please biggums come out." I tell him.

"No." He states in a stone cold voice. "I'll come out when she's back."

"Is this what she would want Jerome? For you to mope around, not eating and making everyone else unhappy? She's out there probably being interrogated by those floppy beasts and you're still in your room?" I ask. I get worried when he doesn't answer.

"Jerome?"

Nothing.

"Jerome. Cut it out, you scaring me."

Silence.

"No one is taking her capture well." I say. "Just come out and we can get through this together." I plead and bang my fist against the door.

I hear his bed springs creak, slow breathing and a slight snore. I know he's asleep. I sigh and back away from the door.

Why did this have to happen?

HANZA'S POV

The day after the king showed up was torture, literally.

I ended up with gashes and cuts everywhere, which where all cleaned out with alcohol in the most painful way possible. Then it was Wednesday, or at least what I thought was Wednesday.

I marked another day off with the help of the blade left over from my shoulder and sat down again.

Surprisingly it was a lot warmer down hear then a thought, and I had to take my jacket off to stop my sweating. It was that time of day now, the part where they would open the cells and let us roam around the giant jail. I just curled up in a small ball and stared at the open door.

Two players ran in and helped me up, each of them holding one arm up.

"I can walk by myself." I mumbled, not actually getting them off me but just lowering my legs to the ground so I could half walk.

We walked down a flight of stairs and reached a stone clearing with tables scattered here and there, some prisoners even laughing.

They lead me to a medium sized circular table with 2 players joking around.

"You got her." A tall boy chuckled.

"Why am I hear? This isn't on my packed schedule of sleeping and interrogation." I groaned and sat down.

"We need to discuss things." A girl stated, then lowered her voice. "About and escape plan."

This caught my attention.

"This place is at the bottom of the ocean. How can we possibly pull it off?" I asked.

"Let me quickly explain." A girl with a girl-Jason getup said. "At around 3 pm. The guards switch place, it usually has a 5 minute gap when there is no guard on duty. This is our time to strike. This is the time two guards come in and take you to the room."

The tall boy spoke up. "We need you to hold back any guards that get in our way while we get the air tanks."

"Air tanks?"

"They take tanks up to the surface to get air to fill this place. And it seems like the mutations can't breathe water." The girl to my left told me.

"Well. Can I at least get you names first?" I asked and the boy to my right smirked.

"I'm Nathan." His shaggy black hair cascaded down to his blue eyes. I noticed all of them were wearing the same blue jumpsuit, and I was wearing normal clothes.

"I'm Claudia." The girl to my right said. Her hair was a mixture of red, yellow and orange, like a flame. And hair eyes were a bright shade of yellow.

"The names Harrison." The tall guy stated. He had a normal short blonde hairstyle, with green eyes that stared into your soul like it wanted to reach out and rip it away from you.

"And I'm Sam." The girl Jason person told me. She was the only person of the group that didn't have a jumpsuit on, and I guess it was because of the spacesuit. She had Jason's blue eyes and sparkling blond hair. It pained my heart but I didn't show any emotion.

"Well are you in?" Claudia asked hopefully.

"Before I commit to this. Why me? Plenty of these people look capable of fighting off squids." I replied.

"You've got to be special if you get taken every day to be interrogated. Good with a sword maybe?" Harrison asked.

"Well I was the co-training leader of the Sky Army, and we were fighting the squids when I was taken from the archery wall." I explained. "People like to say I'm 'the best fighter in the sky army' but I don't like that. Makes me seem all high and mighty."

"Sky Army? I think I've heard of that place." Sam but in. "Started by like, 10 people. Players just kept on coming in and in. I overheard the squids wanted to get rid of them before they get in the way of world domination."

"You don't need to explain it to me when I was one of those ten." I muttered.

"Really? I don't remember seeing you on the starting team." Nathan told me.

"Ever heard of changing your skin?" I asked, they all silenced. "Anyway. I'm in, the sooner I get back to the army the better."
