You and your best friend River had decided to skip school - Ferris Bueller style. You were sat in the back seat of a taxi together, when he leant over and whispered something in your ear.

"So you know how I asked you to skive with me today, (Y/N)..." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yes," you laughed, "It's the most fun I've had in a long time!"
"Well," he sheepishly continued, "It was actually so at the end I could ask you out. See, I kind of, sort of, maybe, am totally in love with you."
You were shocked into silence and at a loss for words.
"Oh," River's face saddened. "If you don't feel the same way, that's... Well it's -"
He was cut off midsentence by you placing a kiss on his lips.
"I love you too, River," you smiled, holding his head in your hands, "I always have."
