Chapter 20 Malek

Gavins pov

As I take out the lasagna from the oven, I hear a knock on the door. I open it, greeting Malek and his mother.

M.mom: My, how you've grown Gavin! How have you been?

Gavin: I'm alright, how is it at your new job?

M.mom: It's good, a bit slow because I'm new to the whole thing but I like it. Where's your parents?

Gavin: Sorry, they'll be here s..

Before I can finish my sentence we hear the door unlock and my parents walk in.

M.mom: Oh, you were almost in time heheh. Sister you need to be more on timee.

They laugh a bit and then walk to the living room while Malek and I leave the house and walk around the neighborhood. Malek wraps his arm around my neck and pulls my head down.

Malek: How's my lil' G.A doin'? I've missed my favorite cousin!

Gavin: I'm alright, I've just had some stuff on my mind I guess. What have you been up to lately? I haven't heard from you in a while.

He scratches his head looking away for a bit.

Malek: I guess I could say the same, but I'm getting things under control now. My gangmates are taking care of it.

Gavin: That's good.

We talk for a bit longer and then I accidentally mention Olivers name. Even though I try to avoid talking about him, Malek keeps asking me about him so I end up telling him about the football match.

He suddenly gets quiet so we walk in silence. It looks like he's in deep thoughts, so I decide not to say anything.

After a while he pulls out his phone and makes a call. He tells the person on the other side of the phone to meet him tomorrow at two pm and then hangs up.

Malek: I think I know someone that can help Oliver, if he's as good as you say he is.

Gavin: What will that someone do?

Malek: Don't worry, I got this okay? I'll tell you when it's done.

Gavin: Sure man, I trust you. Thank you, I really appreciate it.

Malek: Don't mention it G.A!

He grabs my head and ruffles my hair letting out a small laugh.

After talking some more, we head back home and eat dinner. After that Malek and his mom leave.

I wonder what Malek and the person on the phone will do.. I just hope it works out and Oliver cheers up.
