Chapter 11 - Visit

The following day, I and Mendes, left for Survania early in the morning before dawn. Mendes took permission from King Bruno by asking as a research trip to Survania and he granted a permission easily. We were always sent with guards but we used to drop them somewhere else. I crossed the border of Survania and fell on my knees, started crying.
"Mallory...."
"This was a beautiful rain forest once!" I sobbed.
But I didn't have enough time to cry. We walk some distance.
"Let's go to the cave..."
The cave that used to be bright as sun was now dark as night. I entered. There was not a single gem left.
"What did they do of the gems?"
"Fortunately, no one knows how to extract powers from serpent gems!"
"They destroyed you people uselessly..."
"Yes, my Dad saved me to avenge the serpents. Now Daniel will pay off."
I showed Mendes the ruins of the Survania Castle. It was still beautiful as before. I showed him the illusions of a happy Survania, birds feeding their kids on trees, kids playing, teenage serpents learning hunt and me and my parents on the throne. I extracted everything from my memory and showed Mendes all this. I remembered my childhood. I still had tears.
"Let's go now, I'm having a headache."
"Are you alright?"
"Yes... But I'm making a promise today, one day, this cave will be bright again, and I will restore Survania, no matter what!"
And we came back.
"How was the trip kids?"
"It was amazing, Mom!"
"Sounds good."
She's not investigative at least.
After a few days, I received an anonymous letter that said:
"Meet me at the same place, tomorrow, 5 PM"
The letter was marked with an L. Certainly, it's Lorenzo!
I did the same trick as before and reached the destination in time.
"Hey! How are you?"
"I'm super cool as before!"
"Plus, you're sarcastic too!"
This time, I took it so far. I did confess my love.
"Mallory, you're the most amazing Princess I've ever met in my life, different and confident."
I blushed.
He continued, "But I'm working on my career right now, we can continue a friendship for now."
"I respect your opinion."
And he kissed my hand. It was one of the prettiest days of my life. I was again on my skateboard, lol.
