Chapter 9 – The White Dragon

Everybody inside the room had their jaws' dropped open, including me. I wouldn't be surprised if my jaw literally hit the floor.

"W—What?!" Kija yelled.

"She's a dragon too?!" Yona exclaimed.

"I—Impossible," Hak stuttered.

"There's no doubt about it," Lyra sounded so sure judging by the tone of her voice. "She's the Black Dragon. I know of history that had never been told to humans,"

"I'm a dragon too?" I whispered to myself. I couldn't quite believe it. I knew there was a reason why I forgot my memories but I didn't think that the reason was because of a dragon.

And I was also a host of the first dragon.

It was too much for me to handle.

All this information was too much.

I didn't know why I was so afraid when almost everyone here also had the blood of the dragons running through their veins.

Why was I so afraid when my power wasn't even that dangerous?

"Can she feed on the memories of other people too?" Roo-na asked Lyra.

"She can," Lyra nodded. "She has the power of the Black Dragon so she shares the same power,"

"Don't worry, Zara," Avi smiled at me. Now that I noticed, she really liked to smile. "No one is forcing you to use your power here,"

"That's right," Hak nodded. "But your power is quite essential whenever there is a battle involved. You can read the minds of our opponents or erase their memories,"

"Hak!" Yona slapped Hak's arm. "We're not going to use her for her powers unless she wants to do it!"

"Alright," Hak sighed. "I'm just saying it so she's aware that she's beneficial for war,"

"If I can stay here..." my voice trailed off. "I don't mind using my powers,"

"Stay here?" Lyra cleared. "Don't you want to go back to your old life? I can help you by speaking to the Black Dragon personally to help you regain your memories,"

I shook my head. "I know that everything happened for a reason. I don't want to take away my memories from him," I didn't ask her why she could ask the Black Dragon personally because I knew that she was the sun goddess. "I don't know why but I'm quite sure that he's happy with my memories. If I could help the Black Dragon with my memories, then I don't mind letting him have it,"

I knew how hard it was to be lonely since Kija served as an example for me.

If my memories could lessen the Black Dragon's loneliness, he could have it.

"I never expected that answer. You're selfless for a human," Lyra smiled at me. "I'll lend you my help by asking the Black Dragon what your memories were,"

"That would do," I smiled back at her. "Thank you,"

"Can I come, Lyra?" Zeno smiled sheepishly.

"No," Lyra stated flatly. "Even though you're immortal, I don't know how your body would react up above in the heaven. Bringing you there is not worth the risk if you're going to die,"

"That's too bad," Zeno's face fell down. "I wanted to see where you spent your previous years,"

"It's not possible," Lyra replied. "I don't want to see you dying,"

"But my body regenerates if it's gravely injured!" Zeno reasoned.

"No,"

"Please...?" Zeno pouted like a little child.

"Just bring him along, Lyra," Jae-ha rolled his eyes. "I know Zeno would be just fine,"

Lyra narrowed her eyes. "Alright," Lyra sighed. "But if ever you feel something, tell me right away, alright?"

"Yes!" Zeno punched the air. "I'm going to see Lyra's home!"

"Let's just go," Lyra started to walk out of the throne room. "We'll probably be back later at night," and with that, Zeno and Lyra left the throne room.

With my memories gone, I knew that I could just fill it up with some new ones.

If I still had my memories with me, I knew that I wouldn't have met these wonderful people.

I was thankful that my memories were taken away.

"Kija," I looked at him straight into the eyes.

"W—What is it?" he stuttered.

I didn't know why he was nervous around me.

Did he hate me?

"I'll say this again," I inhaled a huge amount of air. "I'm in love with you. Do you want to create good memories with me?"
