Chapter 10 – The White Dragon (Final Chapter)
Just like earlier, everyone had their jaws' dropped open but this time, I wasn't included since I was the one who caused it.
Kija was silent with his eyes wide opened like he couldn't believe what he just heard.
"What's the matter, Kija?" Hak chuckled. "Didn't imagine that a girl would confess to you?"
"Don't tease him too much, Hak," Jae-ha also chuckled. "You know Kija...he doesn't know how to face his own feelings that's why he's acting all shy,"
"You act all tough in the battlefield but you're a coward when it comes to things like this," this time, Hak was laughing.
T—This is embarrassing!, Kija thought.
After two seconds, Kija stormed out of the throne room. That stopped Hak from laughing. "You teased him too much, Hak!" Yona yelled at her husband.
"I was just provoking him to tell Zara his own feelings," Hak shrugged. "I'm not at fault here,"
Maybe Avi was wrong for saying that Kija was in love with me.
Maybe he didn't even like me to start with.
I walked out of the throne room and went straight to my room. I was disappointed. The pain in my heart was heavier than when I was told that I was the host of the Black Dragon.
If this was what being in love felt like—then I would just rather fall out of love.

"Zara," Lyra's voice was heard from outside of my room. I guessed that she was right when she told me that they would be back at night.
I opened the door widely and welcomed her.
"What's with the long face?" she asked.
"It's nothing," I shrugged.
"I'll get straight to the point," she breathed out. "From what the Black Dragon told me, you bargained with him,"
"Bargained?"
"Yes," she nodded. "You bargained with him to take your memories in exchange of saving your father,"
"My father?" I repeated once again. "What's wrong with my father?"
"Your father is dying because of his terminal illness," Lyra explained. "You came from a poor family but even with little money to spend, you were happy. However, your happiness wasn't enough to treat your father so you prayed until the Black Dragon heard your prayers,"
"Is my father okay now?"
"Yes," she replied. "It's all thanks to you,"
"I'm so glad to know that,"
"The Black Dragon also erased traces of your existence in their minds so they wouldn't be in pain when they realized that you couldn't remember them," Lyra added. "The Black Dragon also brought you here since he knew that there are dragons residing in the castle. It's his way to make sure that you wouldn't feel out of place when you learned of your powers,"
"He's rather...thoughtful,"
"I thought so too."

"Zara?" a familiar voice spoke from outside. The pain in my chest returned so early in the morning. "Can I talk to you for a second?"
"I'm busy," I mumbled.
"Please...?" Kija's tone of voice was pleading.
"No,"
"Zar—"
I didn't even let him finish his sentence. "Go away!" I didn't want to see him or talk to him. I wanted to avoid him.
I was sure that I locked the door so there was no way that he could go inside my room. I thought that he was going to give up after that so I closed my eyes once again.
"You're difficult," I heard him whisper from the other side of the door. I heard the sound of bandages tearing apart and after a second, the door slid open with his dragon arm in the view.
"W—What are you doing?" I sat up. It was the first time that I'd seen Kija's dragon arm since it was always bandaged up. Without a word, he walked to my direction and carried me by his shoulder using his dragon arm. "Let me go!"
"No," he stated flatly.
I tried to move around so that he would let go of me but he wouldn't. He brought me to the forest that was near the castle. He brought me down on the ground when I couldn't see the castle anymore.
"What?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"I don't hate you," he blurted out almost immediately. "I ran away from you yesterday because I'm embarrassed—not by the fact that you confessed to me but because I wanted to be the first one to confess to you,"
My eyes widened.
He didn't hate me?
"W—What do you mean?" I stuttered.
"What I'm saying is..." he breathed a huge amount of air. "I love you, Zara,"
If it was possible, I thought that my eyes were going to bulge out of their sockets. "Really?"
"Yes,"
"I love you too," I slammed my body onto his and immediately wrapped my arms around his waist since he was taller than me. "We can create good memories now without loneliness,"
"I kno—"
I surprised him by grabbing the front of his clothing. I pulled him closer to me until my lips finally met his.
