Anne shifted slightly when she felt that Tzuyu left her side. She opened her eyes slowly to see that the light of the bathroom was on. She reached out for her phone to check the time. 3:25.
It was like this every night. Tzuyu couldn't sleep well, which made Anne woke up too. It's been like this for eight months.
Of course, Tzuyu thought that it was great to be pregnant. Some parts of it, like feeling the baby kick, watching the ultra sound videos and pictures were indeed the best feelings of the world. But the constant nausea, the bloating and swollen limbs were like hell on Earth.
All in all, they had enough of pregnancy. Anne had to deal with Tzuyu's mood swings, had to deliver her the food she wanted at that moment just to hear that she wanted something else when she arrived.
"What's up baby?" - she asked, when Tzuyu came back to bed. - "Come here." - she mumbled, opening her arm for Tzuyu to snuggle in.
"She woke up and is kicking like some judo champion." - she sighed out of tiredness. - "I know it sounds bad...but I just want this to end." - she said, inhaling Anne's fresh scent.
"I think we all do. It's just a couple of more days. It'll pass in no time." - Anne said, pressing her lips on Tzuyu's forehead. - "Do you need something to feel better?"
"This is good for now." - she answered, burying her face in Anne's neck.
Anne let silence embrace them in comfort. She put her hand on Tzuyu's stomach carefully, feeling her little baby girl's kicking. She smiled widely. It was something she could never get enough of. The baby knew her touch, her movements and calmed down after a few seconds, whenever Anne tried to soothe her.
She heard Tzuyu's soft snores under her chin, meaning that her wife was asleep. Anne really appreciated times like this. The feeling of everything she ever wished for being so close to her. When darkness surrounded them intertwined with the strange beauty of silence, she felt so grateful.
These times, she didn't think about work. She didn't think about anything else, but these two girls next to her. She never thought that she could love someone as much as she loved Tzuyu. But that little girl in the belly of the love of her life made that possible. And she hasn't even seen her yet.
When she looked down at Tzuyu while she slept, she couldn't help but think about all the things she went trough. Being abused, getting all of her family killed, losing the boy she thought of as her own child. Anne leaving. Anne coming back.
Anne respected Tzuyu more than anyone. She was a good person. No. She was the best person. The amount of greatness and humanity that's in this girl was not something from Earth. And she got to call this girl hers, and hers only. If she would be the greediest person alive, she still wouldn't ask for this much.
She looked at their hands, their rings. Commitment. She didn't think about that as a threat anymore. It was the best thing that ever happened to her.
She caressed Tzuyu's jawline slowly, admiring the beauty of her girl. Perfect. In every way. Even if she was chubbier because of the pregnancy, and got more sulky. It didn't matter. She was the one she fell in love with, and the one she falls in love deeper and deeper as the days pass by.
Tzuyu hummed slightly at her touch, adjusting her position.
"Anne..." - she mumbled, opening her eyes slowly.
"Sleep, baby." - Anne told her, caressing her back.
"But I'm hungry..." - Tzuyu whined, pouting at Anne.
Anne smiled at her, letting out a sigh.
"And what would you like to eat?"
"Hmm...I don't knooow."
