The whole household were busy preparing my birthday party, I confess am the favourite grandson, that made some of my cousin to be jealous, but I settle things with them not with my fist but with words.
My birthday began and everything was going well, I cut my cake and made a wish after the sang the song, and we all took a picture, everyone was present.
Carlos, Margaret and Alex junior without forgetting Jim and his fiancé, billy too.
They danced, played and ate, and did some other birthday stuff.
I glanced at the table full of gift boxes and remembered something, I excused myself before heading to my room, I brought out that little gift box mama offered to me when I was seven, never really had the occasion to open it.
I slowly unwrap the gift box, revealing a brand new Bible, I chuckled.
If I had found it three years back, I could've flung it to the wall, I thought.
I opened the book reading some passages.
"Alex! What you doing? Is your birthday downstairs!" Louis pop from behind the door and screamed.
"Oh, sorry, I got carried away," I dropped the book on table as she pulled me.
"Mr Alex someone demand to see you," James the Butler said, I was a little confused but decided to shrug it away, I grabbed my jacket while heading out, some people in the pool wave at me and I returned the gesture.
I spotted this guy in black with a medium size gift box, he didn't look dangerous.
"Yeah?" I stopped in front of him.
"Here, I was asked to give this to you," he held the box out.
"Uh, what's in it?" I gave him a suspicious look.
"Nothing harmful," he softly shove the box in my arms before running off.
I tap the box with the tip of my fingers, verifying if it was a bomb, we were taught that in our spy training. Once I was sure the box was harmless, I opened it.
What looked like a book lay in the end of the box with a note on it.
I grabbed the note bringing it in clear view.
Dear Lex, you were probably expecting the worse today.
But you can relax now, am not coming after you.
I just want you to know that am sorry for all I did to you in the pass.
Maybe my gift will help you forget, if you've got time I'll like to see you in the pack tomorrow, I mean no harm, you're free to neglect this, I'll understand after all I cursed you a lot of pain that I won't forget cause the still haunt me.
