Small World (A Jensen Ackles Love Story)

Chapter 8

It's time to get on the plane to go back to Texas. I'm from a small town of just a couple thousand people. Everyone in that town watched me grow up. So as we'll as seeing my family I have to make sure I see everyone else that I care for.

"Ryden? Are you excited to see your family?" Jensen asked me once we were on our flight to Dallas.

"I am ready! I'm excited for you to finally meet everyone that hasn't come out to see me." Which isn't much because only my grandma and grandpa on my dad side have came out along with my mom, dad, brother and his family, and my sister and her family.

"I am too!" He looked over a gave me a quick kiss.

We finally landed in Dallas and decided to rent a car and drive the rest of the way. When we finally pulled into town, we drove straight to my parents house.

"Ryden!" My mom yelled as she came and gave me a hug. She pulled away and grabbed Jensen. "It's good to see you Jensen."

"You too Lori." Jensen said back while grabbing our bags.

"Is anyone here yet mom?" I asked walking in the house and sitting down.

"Not yet. Y'all are the first. So this gives me time to talk to y'all about y'all." There it is...

"Mom...." I groaned out.

"Don't mom me!" She turned to Jensen and asked, "What made you finally decide to ask my daughter out?" I just laid my head in my hands and groaned. Jensen knew I'm not one to talk about this kind of thing so he started rubbing my back to calm me down.

"I think realization hit me that I really like your daughter mam. Me and Ryden have talked about how the scene we worked on the first day gave us the boost we needed to finally get together." Well that was a good answer.

Right as my mom was about to ask another question, my brother walked in. Thankfully my mom cares more about her grand kids then my relationship status.

I turned to Jensen, "Thank you." I gave him a kiss and then I turned to go see my brother. I gave him a quick hug then he went and talked to Jensen. 

"Jensen nice to see you again." My brother,Drew, said.

"You too!" He replied shaking his hand.

"So you are finally with my sister huh? Do I need to give you the big brother talk? The 'I'll kick your ass if you hurt her?'" Jensen laughed and said no.  

My mom went to the kitchen and started getting dinner ready. I sat on the couch and leaned against Jensen as he wrapped his arm around me. I had my little 2 year old niece, Miley, sitting in my lap. 

"So Ryden, how has everything been?" Drew asked me.

"It's been good. I'm excited for this show. I think we can get a few seasons out of it." I said looking down at Jagger who was alseep. 

"When does it come out?" Shari, Drew's wife, asked.

"This September." Jensen replied. 

After catching up for about ten minutes, my sister, Shallee showed up with her 6 year old son Jagger. We all caught up and enjoyed each other. Then finally Dad came in and helped mom and we all gathered and had dinner.

After dinner me and Jensen decided to go for a walk. Luckily for me, we have a small pond up the road that has benches around it. Me and Jensen walked there and watched the sunset. It was out in the open and it is just a beautiful place. 

"You know, this is probably my favorite place. I would get stressed and just come up here and sit for hours thinking. I would come here at night and just act like the rest of the world didn't exist. Everyone in town knows of this spot. Yet no one is ever here. No one knows I come out here. I've never brought anyone out here" I said as I looked out towards the pond. Jensen was looking at me as I said this.
