(Michael X Thrasher)

Thrasher's POV:

"Hi, I'm Kevin! What's your name?" I say as I smile widely at one of the other kids. He was tall, like me. His hair was shoulder length and black. His eyes were, clearly, puffy and red from crying. Looks like he needs a friend.

"Michael." He replied, shyly.

"Hey, Michael, who's homeroom class awe you in?" Michael looked up, looking around for something, or someone.

"Monte!" He called out. Soon, a fifth grader came over. He looked like Michael, but older. "Monte, do you wemember who my teacher is?"

"Where's to paper mom gave you this morning?" Michael quickly dug through his school bag, pulling out a piece of blue paper, handing it to Monte. "Looks like you have...Miss Green. She's really cool."

"We have the same teachew!" I said excitedly. "Come on, let's see where we're supposted to sit!" With that, I quickly grab Michael's hand, pulling him over to our classroom as we looked for our assigned seats.

~

It's been twelve years since Michael and I first met. It seems like so much longer, though. We just started eleventh grade yesterday and, honestly, I can't wait to tell him how I feel.

"What up Shreddy Krueger?" Michael asks, slapping my back as he plopped down next to me on the bus. "Hey, who do you got for first class?"

"Mister Vest." I said, smiling. "Hey, Mikey, there's something I wanted to ask you."

"Shoot."

"Will you be my boyfriend?" I asked, my smile starting to fade.

"How's this for an answer?" Michael leaned in, pressing his lips against my own. I'm just glad we always sit in the back of the bus, because almost no one at school knows I'm gay. He pulls away, smiling. "I thought you would never ask."

"I thought you would never say yes." I said, softly. I love him, more than he could dream. And now I can show him exactly what he's meant to me since that first day in kindergarten.
