That's where it began.
Heaven had always been perfect- oh, so bright and pristine. A perfect view of a perfect sky, in a perfect solar system, in a perfect galaxy, in a perfect universe filled with perfect beings which radiated light and positivity and a soft, innocent kind of love like a child would have for their new puppy (before it gets too big and suddenly stops being so fun and adorable and just becomes a nuisance). It was just like anyone would've imagined, if there had been anyone to imagine it at that time. Heaven was a complete utopia.
Or rather, it had been, for the few days since its creation. The Almighty had been quite busy creating a wonderful place for her angels to reside while they worked alongside her in her newer, bigger project; the project which she would call Earth, and upon which would lie one of her most complex creations.
Humanity.
Her angels sparsely populated the vast white expanse, scattered in small groups - seraphim, cherubim, thrones, dominions, virtues, powers, principalities, archangels and angels; all within their own (somewhat isolated) parties, working or simply talking amongst each other under God's watchful eye. If she had felt anything while watching her most intelligent creations speak and get along, it would likely have been pride. But she was the Almighty, the Creator, the omnipotent, omnibenevolent, omniscient being who had begun to build her own universe from the ground up - she didn't have time for her own feelings. It was debatable as to whether or not she had any at all.
Among the angels which were spread across the area, stood two particular archangels. One was tall, with long auburn hair which flowed to his shoulders, a golden crown of leaves sitting atop his head. The other was much shorter, he was smaller in almost every way visible; shorter greyish-blonde hair, smaller wings, even a smaller halo than the former. Yet, these differences mattered very little. The two archangels were still brothers, and always would be: Raphael may have been superior in many aspects, but he had decided that he would teach Gabriel. He knew that one day, his little brother may even surpass him.
But, that was a matter for the future to decide. Currently, they were focusing on now.
Raphael stared out over the new landscape- dark, but with bright stars and colourful supernova and swirling galaxies dotted around its vast expanse. This had become his job; to create beautiful things to fill the empty space of this new universe. These things were not necessarily there for the humans to discover, but were there nonetheless. Besides, at least it kept Raphael and a few other angels busy. He had learned, over his few days, that the Almighty had plans for this universe, and that those plans were hers to know. Keeping order was her business, and the smaller parts of the creation were theirs- thats all the angels were told.
Their orders were incredibly simple, and the Almighty had complete trust in her divine helpers. She had created each and every one to be the perfect assistants for the jobs at hand, and they would continue to be that way for eternity. They would remain the way they were meant to be.
