Chapter Twenty-Five: Before Sunset (3x21)

Kaira is sitting downstairs in the Mikaelson Mansion, completely scared. Klaus presumed it was because Esther had Alaric kidnap her. Kaira wanted to tell Klaus about Alaric but feared that Klaus wouldn't believe her like with Esther. Kaira focused on Alaric. It's morning. Alaric is sitting alone at his desk in his classroom, his feet propped up on the desk. Alaric twirls the white oak stake in his hands and takes his feet off the desk. Alaric leans forward and looks at the stake. Alaric turns to look out the door. Alaric hears Caroline entering the school. Caroline is on the phone with Tyler, she walks through the halls of the school. Kaira looks over at Tyler and then decides to focus on Caroline. Caroline is talking on the phone to Tyler

"I love you too," said Caroline

Caroline hangs up. Caroline hears a noise and turns around. Behind her, Alaric rushes past. Caroline turns back around

"Hello?" asked Caroline

Caroline walks into the cafeteria. Rebekah is alone, cleaning up the mess from the dance

"Where's Matt? And Kaira?" asked Caroline

"He bailed. Got called into work at the last minute. Klaus has Kaira under lockdown," said Rebekah

"Are you kidding me? So, it's just us?" asked Caroline

"Yes, and you're late. The cleanup committee started at eight o'clock," said Rebekah

"It's like 8:02," said Caroline

"Exactly. I managed to turn up on time and I didn't even get to attend the dance that I organized," said Rebekah

Rebekah walks past Caroline and empties the trash

"I'm sorry about your mom. I mean I know you like, hated her and everything, but still...I'm sorry," said Caroline

"I'm sorry about your teacher. He seemed like a nice guy," said Rebekah

"Yeah. He was," said Caroline

"I'm gonna get started on the gym," said Rebekah

Rebekah walks out into the hallway. Kaira's eyes focus and Tyler is watching her

"What?" asked Kaira

"Klaus has made me babysit you," said Tyler

"I don't need a babysitter," said Kaira

Tyler smiles weakly at Kaira

"I think we both know that," said Tyler

"I think Klaus even knows that. But here we are," said Kaira

Kaira focuses on Alaric. Alaric comes around the corner and Rebekah stops dead in her tracks

"You're supposed to be dead," said Rebekah

"I am!" said Alaric

Rebekah rushes at Alaric, but Alaric throws her against the locker. Alaric's about to stab her with the white oak stake when Caroline rushes out of the cafeteria and pins Alaric to the locker. Rebekah takes the stake and stabs Alaric with it. Caroline and Rebekah look at each other as Alaric takes the stake out. When Alaric finally gets it out, he realizes that they are both gone. Outside, Caroline rushes to her car and pulls out her keys and fumbles with them. Caroline sees Alaric's reflection in her car window and drops her keys. Alaric snaps Caroline's neck and she falls to the ground. Alaric drags the unconscious Caroline back towards the school as his flesh starts to smoke and burn off. Rebekah watches him enter the school. Kaira's eyes focus back. Kaira makes her way to the hallway as Rebekah enters the mansion. Kaira and Rebekah find Klaus, who is packing up things around the house
