We've been at this camp for two days now, I've gotten close to pretty much everyone here. I currently sat near the gone out fire staring into the black ash and charcoaled wood that lay still since last nights fire when an engine approaching caught my attention. Looking to the start of the camp I could see two men stood beside a truck with a motorcycle on the bed, they were looking around the camp almost as if they were analysing everyone and everything. One was tall and skinny with thinning, almost gone, light hair while the other one was slightly shorter, more muscley with long-ish brown hair, he was definitely the more attractive.
The older one locked eyes with me snapping me out of my own analysation that was taking place. "Shane!" I yelled since he somehow took the leadership role of the group we have here.
"What Lyla?" He sounded pissed as he came from just behind the tree line, speeding up his steps once he saw who was standing a few feet away from me. "Go find your mom!" He yelled while pointing at me.
"You what? They haven't exactly came here all guns blazing have they? Hell, they look just as shit out of luck as we are." I yelled back at him holding my ground. The last couple of days he's decided to act as though I can't do anything on my own, I'm surprised he doesn't want to breathe for me aswell, jeeze.
Rolling his eyes he continued up to the two men with his gun firmly in his hand, me being me, followed him, which lead to him rolling his eyes and mumbling 'bitch' under his breath.
Say it louder and I'll show you a bitch, asshole. I thought to myself.
"Who are you, what do you want?" Shane asked bluntly looking between the two of them while I stood a little behind him. As much as I want him to be wrong, since he hates it so much, I'm not stupid and know to watch out for any tricks.
"Calm down, calm down. Names Merle, Merle Dixon. This 'ere is ma baby brother Daryl, bit quiet, don' mind 'im, see ya got a little camp going on 'ere, got room for two more?" The older one spoke as he looked at Shane.
"One day trial, you mess up you're gone." Shane nodded at the two men before walking away, well that was easier than I expected it to be. I thought to myself as I watched him walk away.
"Hey lil lady, wanna show ol' Merle around?" He asked causing me to turn around and put my attention back on the two men. Never being one to judge someone purely on their looks I shrugged my shoulders and agreed, nodding my head and leading them further into the camp.
"Up on the RV is Dale, he likes to keep watch, kinda quiet but good guy. Over there outside the RV is Glenn and T-dog, their great enough said, the two blondes down by the water are Andrea and Amy, sisters, Andrea has an attitude problem but Amy's okay." I explained as I pointed over at who I was taking about. "Uh, that's my mum Lori and brother Carl over there, I think their great but yeah. That there is morales, Jaqui and the kids I don't really know them but their alright. Uhm, oh! Over there is Carol, her daughter Sophia, and the waste of space that she calls her husband, Ed. He's the biggest dick I have ever seen, they think we don't know but we all hear the cry's and see the bruises." I finished up my tour, looking over at carol with a small smile on my face.
"What 'bout that other guy? Shane?" The younger brother spoke for the first time, startling me.
"Well damn, you can talk." I laughed slightly before continuing. "He's my dads best friend, when the world went to shit he got us here. He's an absolute asshole who needs to learn what personal space is but he seems to know what he's doing." I shrugged. "Oh! And I'm Lyla!" I smiled at the two of them.
"What 'bout your dad?" Merle asked looking at me curiously.
"He, Uh, he was shot just before things went to shit, he never made it." I shrugged looking at the floor, I didn't want their pity, I didn't need it. "Uh yeah, I hope you have a tent because we don't have any spares, We're sharing as it is. Uhm, the tents are set up down there so feel free to put yours wherever you want." I smiled at the two men.
"Lyla! Oh hey, uh, new guys." Glenn said as he skidded to a stop beside me.
"Glenn, hey! This is Merle and Daryl Dixon, Shane's given them a 24 hour trial run because he seems to think he's god now." I laughed as his face went from confusion to realisation.
"What is up with that guy? It's like he's got a permanent stick rammed so far up his ass it's about to come out his mouth." He asked no one in particular, me shrugging my shoulders in response.
"Anyhoes! What can I do for ya?" I smiled at him causing a slight pink to appear on his cheeks.
"Uh, we're going on a run into town, wondered if you wanted in?" He asked just as Shane started shouting for whoever was going to hurry up.
"Yeah, sure, you guys wanna come?" I asked twirling round to face the Dixon brothers.
"Nah, I'm goin' huntin'." Daryl said as he adjusted his crossbow and started towards the forest. Wait? How did I not notice he had a crossbow? I really should pay more attention.
"Count ol' Merle in, come on chinaman, lead the way!" Merle bellowed as he ushered us to walk forewords.
"I'm Korean!"
