The next morning I could barely sit still as I looked over at all the happy faces thinking that'd we'd found somewhere safe, after I'd been tossing and turning all night in fear of the barn walkers escaping and killing us all. My knee was bouncing uncontrollably the entire log shaking slightly from the movement until someone came and sat beside me forcing my leg to stop.

"What's up Lyla?" My dad asked as he slightly nudged me with his shoulder.

"Nothing, why?" I muttered probably not sounding very believable, my thoughts were confirmed when I looked to see him watching me with an eyebrow raised, he knew I was lying , he always did.

"Your legs been bouncing since you sat down, I'm your dad Lyla, I know these things about you." He chuckled as he nudged me again. "What's going on?"

"Uh, theres, uh, theres wal-"

"There's walkers in the barn." Glenn's voice cut me off as he stood in front of the entire group, hands fumbling together nervously as everyone took in the news.

"Yeah that." I mumbled as I looked around at the shocked and scared faces of my family sitting around.

"What?" Shane yelled as he jumped up and started to walk over to the barn my dad all of two steps behind, the rest of them slowly getting up and walking over.

"What do we do?" Mum questioned as she held Carl close to her, Carol doing the same with Sophia as we all looked to dad and Shane to decide what to do.

"I'll go talk to Hershel, we'll figure this out." Dad tried to assure people as he turned and walked back to the Greenes home, not before noticing the looks of doubt on everyone's faces.

"Rick! We ain't got time for that man! We gotta do something now!" Shane yelled at my dad only causing the walkers moans from inside the barn to get louder as they fought to break their way out.

"This is his land! We do nothing without speaking to him first." Dad finalised before he walked away without looking back leaving the rest of us looking around at each other wondering what to do next.

"We'll have two people on watch, T-Dog, Daryl you got first shift right?" Shane said as he looked towards the two men receiving nods in reply. "Everyone else stay away." He muttered as he followed after my dad.

Silently we all began walking back towards our camp, the happy mood from this morning forgotten as we all became absorbed in our thoughts.

"Lyla!" A voice yelled causing me to spin around and look back towards the barn noticing Daryl stood waving me over.

"What's up?" I looked up at him as I stood a few feet away, not wanting to get too close to the walkers who were still trying to fight their way out.

Nodding his head to the side before walking off  I took that as a 'follow me' and walked behind him to the side of the barn until he randomly stopped causing me to bump into the back of him.

"Did you know?" He asked while staring into my eyes.

"Know what?" I asked not wanting to drop myself in it just yet.

"About the barn." He whispered harshly never breaking eye contact.

"Uh, yeah, Glenn told me last night." I muttered looking down at the ground that was suddenly more interesting.

"And ya didn't think t' tell me? Ya dad?" He whispered yelled once more as he stepped closer.

"Hey! Don't get pissy at me! I gave Glenn and Maggie some time to speak to Hershel, okay?" I whisper yelled back as I pushed his chest slightly creating more space between us.
