Harlyn POV

I never knew that a girl named Helena came into my life and makes me feeling like I am the luckiest guy on the earth. I thought I lost her that night after the fight but, instead she is still waiting for me though I did hurt her emotionally. I admit that was not the best part of my life.

And that is not the best version of me.

"Dad!!!" I heard our son calling me from his room. I rush into his room and see that Damian is there, standing next to his bed. My anger takes control of me but I would not let my son knows this side of me. I don't want him to be scared of his own dad. "Hello, Harlyn Hunter."

"Why are you here?"

"Just came here to say hi to this cute little buddy...."

"It is freaking midnight. You can not just barge into my house. You are not my guest cause you came uninvited, Dyson."Little Harlyn sprint out of the bed and he quickly runs towards me. I can see that he has been crying. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you??" He shakes his head and wipe the tears. "Babe, where the hell you-

"Helena, can you please take Harl with you?" She nodded without saying anything. I am sure she knows who is around. "I will wait, urm, in our room." I close the door and found Damian is already sitting on the bed. "So, bout our business, wait, you told me that you two are not seeing each other again....But why is she here? Harlyn, I thought you would listened to me but then, you are not. How stubborn."

"I told you that leave her out of this. Yes, I know that our past is not what I like to talk bout and I am so sorry for your loss, okay? I know it is hard for you to forget it and just fucking move on but Damian, she is my everything. I will not let anything happens to her..." He chuckled. "Aww, Harlyn... I will not going to drag her into this,Harlyn. I am not going to be the one who hold the grudges just because we are not friends. You might be the one who caused the death of my fiancee but I am here, with a good intention. Whole of my life, I do not know how to knock on the door. You know that, don't you?"

"What? Damian, you are way older than me. Idiot... Now, say it. Why exactly you show up in the middle of night and scared my son to death?"

"I just wanted to tell you that I should not, trying to destroy your happiness. I thought your son is excited to see me but instead, he cry even though I still think that is a good sign... From now on, lets just let the past in the past and hoping the future is better. My brother and your dad, they are going to meet up tomorrow."

"Why is that?" He gives me that puzzled look. "Well, no more us, vampires and werewolves, being in that state where we can not stand each other. I know, vampires hate our scent and your face says it all."

"As long as we are not crossing the lines. I guess that would be fine." Then, he just disappeared. I step into the room and see that little Harl and Helena are already fell asleep. "Babe, did he just left?" I nod at her. "I thought you are going to finish him off tonight." She added, with a little smile formed on her face. "He wants a peace. So, I agree."

"That is good then."
