"She was here for a whole day and you didn't even tell me." Eric's voice was dangerously calm, predatory again.
I was wide awake, listening to my monitor beep away. I was grateful that I was still alive, not knowing what came over me when I was bleeding out against the corridor of the chasm. Tris came by and recapped me on everything that happened over the past 27 hours that I was out cold.
She told me that Edward and Myra are now factionless and Peter is ranked number two now.
She also told me that Eric had been even more cruel and unforgiving and that she had heard a rumour that it was because he still hadn't found me. I rolled my eyes at that, as if he cared. She then told me that she was going to a thing Uriah had invited her to and that I should get better soon.
However Eric now stood at the side of my bed and I was ignoring him flat out.
"I'm sorry Sir, it was Max's orders." A timid voice echoed behind me.
A sigh was heard before a scraping of a chair.
"Leave." It was just a whisper but it conveyed a lot to me.
I felt a calloused hand brush away stray hairs that fell into my face when I turned- stupidly on the side that was stabbed.
"Even if I did listen to you, my co-workers wouldn't care much for someone being stabbed in the eye. But now... since you were targeted... now its personal." he was speaking to me as if I was asleep, but I wasn't.
"You should have listened to me then. I will destroy Molly myself, I don't need your help anymore." My voice came out dry and hollow.
He wasn't shocked when I had opened my eyes. I expected that of a Dauntless leader, always prepared for anything. Eric just stared at me, silently replacing his hand at his side. His eyes always changed from dark to light, representing him perfectly. They were dark now.
Eric still stayed quiet. I sat up to get some life back into my body, when Eric pushed me back down by the shoulder that wasn't stabbed. He gave me the same glare that seemed to control me and I rested again in the uncomfortable position.
"No. You don't get up from this bed 'till I give you the go-ahead." He ordered me, sternly.
Something stirred from deep inside me but my instinct was to sass him. I crossed my arms around my chest and glared at him.
"Now you want to be my faction leader Eric! I still have an initiation to train for!" I snapped at him, smacking his hand away.
His eyes darkened even further. He was raging now. I recoiled into myself in apprehension. Not a good idea to sass him right now, right... got it.
"You seem to forget that I am still your faction leader, and I can be your lover at the same time. I'm getting very tired of waiting for you to admit your feelings for me, and I will make do on my threats. You stay in this bed or there will be repercussions you don't like." He reminded me of the public declaration where he would tell everyone that I was his.
"Whatever." I replied, indignant that I had no choice in who I wanted to date.
Maybe I wanted to date Peter (for all intensive purposes of this inner rant) then what would he have to say or do about that? Kick us out as factionless? Kill Peter off? Refuse to speak to me for the rest of my life?
I don't think so buddy.
Eric just smirked making my hackles raise. He always let off a real dangerous aura, even if he was being the weirdest little cuddle bear. I glared at him silently. Eric leaned down and placed his lips on mine swiftly, while pulling back and leaving me screaming at myself for wanting more.
"Stage two of initiation starts in two days. I expect you to be there early. I will be training you, no one else." Eric snapped at me, seemingly in more of a bad mood than usual.
He sat hunched on the metal chair in front of the snapback covering my bed from the others, resting his elbows on his thighs and locking his long strong fingers together. I wasn't supposed to notice it but it was an obvious display of strength and worthiness.
"What?" I asked confused, looking up at him still even when he was sitting.
"You're smart Mia, you can figure it out." He purred at me.
I raised my eyebrows questioningly. What did he mean by that? Does he know what I am? A surge of fear ran through me.
"Why are you training me, aren't you busy?" I asked him quickly, despite my urge to be rude to him.
"I chose the initiate training this year. Might as well make the most of it. Four is doing all the initiates below fifteen ranking and I'm doing the above fifteen ranking." He looked away rubbing his hands together.
I shifted on the bed and got up, my small feet smacking against the cold ground. My wounds had started to burn laying down like that. I only realised that I was in my underwear when Eric's head snapped up furiously.
"Relax, I just need to get some movement in me! Its starting to hurt laying like that!" I blushed at the simple fact of my lack of clothing.
Eric had a feral look on his face as he took in my battered body. I squeaked in embarrassment as another man walked in the room, jumping to cover up my exposed spots.
Eric flew out of his chair at a speed that could rival a race car and yelled at the other guy to get out. I blushed as I saw blood stained white patches on my body. I made a pained sound as I peeled off the one bandage and saw the blue stitches bleeding.
"You should have stayed down!" Eric snarled angrily at me, taking the bloodied bandage from me and throwing it away in the hazards disposal bin.
He then took control and started cleaning up my three wounds after shoving me back down on the bed. It went like this: he was gentle with my stomach as he caressed my skin with the alcohol wipe as if I was the most precious thing he had ever seen. When he reached my shoulder he did the same thing, tracing the roses and compass. His eyes took me in in a way that made me blush. Eric was slightly shaking by the time he reached my thigh. He grabbed my uninjured leg and spread it to get to the wound on the inside of my injured thigh. Eric stopped blinking, which was something I realised he did when he needed to regain control.
When he was finished, he stormed out with a deer in the headlights look. I wondered what was up with him, but at the same time I kind of knew.
