The Sleepover

Thursday night. Its always Thursday. Plates and glass breaking. Shouting and empty threats. "Hank what did I tell you. GET OUT!" "Meredith please give me one more chance." "No, I'm sick of giving you chances and you cheating on me over and over again." More yelling then something that's never happened before. My dad hit my mother. I couldn't take it. I ran in the bathroom. I slit my wrist twice and watched the blood drip down. I grab my phone, "Luke,hey my parents are fighting and Gavin's not home. Yeah 20 minutes, 35th street house number 2791." I cut my right wrist three more times then clean off the blood. I pack a bag and wait outside. "Thanks Luke." I say when we get in the car. I looked out the window and Luke grabbed my hand. "I'm sorry." he whispered. "Don't be, your my ray of sunshine." I smiled a cheesy smile at him. "You have a beautiful smile. I want to make you smile all the time." I leaned my head on his shoulder, "I'm not going anywhere." I smiled. Luke really was the only thing that made me happy, it's scary to think of my life without him. Oh right, I'd be dead without him. He stopped the car. Alright, before anything I thought I should tell you something" I nod. "I'm in a band, my band mates are probably home but don't worry they are nice guys." A band. I thought he'd looked familiar. We got out of the car and he held my hand. When we got inside there were 3 guys playing video games. "Luke's home!" one said. He had blue hair. "Yeah, guys this is Sapphire. She's a friend of mine and she's staying tonight." Luke exclaimed. I waved and then it was kinda awkward, "I'm kinda having family problems and I didn't want to stay there I hope that's okay." I asked looking at the ground. "Why wouldn;t that be okay. I'm Michael by the way." The boy with the blue hair said. "Calum." the tannest one said. "Ashton." the slightly curly haired one said. "It's nice to meet all of you!" I said. They were all really nice and they seemed to like and accept me. Now I have 4 friends, that's more than I thought I would ever have. "I'll be right back." I said to Luke. When I was younger I always felt rude walking in someone's house it was a place I've never been before. It was sacred almost. Everyone walked in our house. (flashback; a year ago.) "Sapphire!" Gavin shouted. "He's home today! Right mom?!" I asked standing in front of the door. "Yes honey, calm down you have all day, besides tomorrow is your birthday he'll probably spend all day with you." I jumped up and down eagerly awaiting to see my dad. As soon as the door opened I raced up the stairs. "Dad!" I shouted. "Your family is home, we missed you!" I threw open the bedroom door and my heart stopped. "Sapphire?" I ignored his pleas and looked away, my tears hitting the floor. "Mom!" I yelped. She came running up the stairs. "Meredith I can explain." he said. He didn't mean it what was there to explain he was in love with another woman. "Were done listening Hank." She had fallen out of love and I watched it happen. I hated him for breaking up our family. "I hate you! You ruined this family! I'll never forgive you no matter how many times you try to apologize!" I yelled. Would you believe me if I said he forgot my birthday the next day. (end of flashback) I was crying in the hallway. I opened the door next to me and crawled in. The bathroom. I sat and cried. I rolled up my sleeves and then the door opened. It was Ashton. "Sapphire are you okay?" he looked at my arm. "I'm sorry! Please don't tell Luke!" I pleaded. "Okay I won't. I promise."
