This Is It

There's a point in everyone's life when you just give up. This was that time I was tired of coming home from school and hearing yelling and doors slamming. Sitting in my room listening to my brother say I'm useless and how I was a mistake. Not having any friends made it worse. So I left one night. After school I walked to the city, I entered a building crying. I pushed the elevator button several times. I stepped in and so did a boy. I wipe away tears and the boy looks at me. "Are you okay?" he asks. The elevator stops, "I'm fine it's just I had a bad day." "I'm so sorry to hear that." the boy says. I tighten my grip on my backpack. The elevator stops again, "this is my stop." I start to walk out towards the stairs towards the roof. I run up the stairs and push the door open. I throw my backpack on the ground and take off my shoes. I walk towards the edge of the roof. I put my hands on the ledge and push myself on. I stand on the ledge looking down at the city I smile wiping away tears. "Stop!" I turn around, "Don't please Don't jump!"It's the boy from the elevator. "Let me help you!" he says. "No one can help me not anymore." I say. He gets closer he's close enough to touch. "What's your name?" he says. I shake my head, "It doesn't matter I'm jumping." "No stop please I'd never forgive myself." he says. "This doesn't involve you!" "Please there has to be something you want to live for." There is something love but that's never going to happen. "My name is Luke. I'm 17." I wipe away new tears. I turn completely around and face the boy. "Your so pretty. Please get down and talk to me I can help you." I sigh maybe he's right I start to get down but slip. I scream but someone's holding me. It's Luke, "It's okay I got you I got you." He pulls me up and sits me down. "Sapphire." "What?" "My name its Sapphire." He smiles,"Its nice to meet you Sapphire. Is there anything else I should know?" I stand up, "I'm 17, my family hates me I'm all alone. I'm clinically depressed and suicidal. I hate this life." I say. "Your not alone." Luke says. "You have me."
