『 HE 』

You keep me company the moment I breathed my life,

You bestowed me unconditional love even I can't imagine,

For me, you are a hero, and nobody can surpass your greatness as a man.

I remembered the days you fetch me home from school and I told you stories,

I remembered the way you patted my head as you listen to my worries,

Whenever I cry, you're the first person I run to,

As a child, you made my tears subside by buying me a gift or two.

Alas, those colorful memories were now part of the past,

You're no longer here, but peaceful in the kingdom of God.

I was sad you didn't even see me received my award

At that time I didn't quite understood the meaning of death

I marched alone with a heavy feeling I couldn't name

As people looked at me and showered me with smiles

It was incomplete knowing my hero wasn't seeing me with this feat.

Growing up without you is hard

It's like a part of me is forever lost since that.

Even now that I am older,

I envy friends that are considered precious daughters.

I wished I have gotten to know you more

And in return, make you proud of all the things and for helping me soar.

Life would have been easier if you were with us,

But we cannot stop what God has planned, even the good and the bad.

I know I will never have the chance to say

That I loved you and thankful of who I am today

Even writing this poem will never be enough and I will run out of words to convey

Though that limited time, you left me with wonderful memories I wouldn't want to trade away.

I know you were watching over us,

So I'll continue to live and succeed, like what you always want

Wherever I go, you'll be with me

I'll treasure the memories and keep it locked in my heart.

And as I look above, you will be the ever radiant star

That shines with an ocean, painting it with a vibrant hue.
