Epilogue
It had been months since the incident. After we had parted ways with Lily and her new pack we ended up at the rendezvous spot where a car had been waiting. A woman had gotten out and questioned us. After getting the story she offered us a job at the program. However we had to go to school first and get an education since we missed ten years of that, then we had to take some special classes on training our abilities. They were especially fascinated with Luna since she is one of the only Lunae's known to be alive.
One day during school while we were hanging out in the quad during break I heard the unmistakable caw of a crow. I had explained to Luna about my encounters beforehand so she knew exactly what was happening when I went to investigate. We saw all ten crows sitting again side by side on a lamppost. The first one flapped its wings and almost seemed to nod in my direction.
That's when it hit me. One crow sorrow. The first crow hadn't been for me, it had been for Luna. The sorrow she felt when she lost her mother. But in a way the sorrow was also with me. The sorrow I feel for Luna who was ripped away from her mother as she met her. We had learned that her name had been Kayla.
Now all ten crows cawed in our direction then promptly disappeared. Ten crows for a time of joyous bliss.
