Chapter 2.

We arrived at their camp just as the sun's rays started filtering through the tall pine trees. Some of the pack members had explained that this was only a makeshift camp and their actual home was somewhere farther north-ish in Yosemite.

It turns out that all the national parks are Supernatural friendly and San Diego was one of the small cities that was anti-Supernatural. Just our luck that 1. Luna and I lived in a place where we will be hunted for being us and 2. We didn't even have to go to Oregon to be safe we could have just teleported to the closest national park and started a new life.

In fact we could teleport away right now, but then there's the deal I made with Luna that prevented that. Couldn't hurt to ask though.

"Hey Lu? I know I said I'd give them a chance but why don't we just teleport to the Sierras or something where we'll be safe."

At that she stiffened and for a moment I was worried I had offended her by the stricken look on her face. But instead she casually looked around and then pulled me deeper into the woods. She then shifted into her wolf and stuck her nose in the air sniffing around, while I awkwardly stood there.
Satisfied, she shifted back and turned toward me, "Okay, you know how I can teleport and maybe do other things that regular werewolves can't well apparently those are like super rare and basically shunned because their unnatural like can you believe that! They're one to talk." she said with a snort, before I could comment she continued in her rushed tone, "Anyways they're born whenever the three moons are aligned. According to old tradition these Lunae Wolves, that's what we're called, are to be killed at birth. Also I think they put a tracking device on me when I wasn't looking."

Luna looked at me and I looked back. After a few minutes of processing I slowly nodded. Then what she said slowly filtered into my brain and I started panicking.
"What do you mean you think they put a tracker on you! Why would they kill you and why weren't you killed? Do you think if they find out they'll kill you? Also-"

"Eva! Calm down please," Luna interrupted tears shining in her eyes.

I immediately regretted my outburst. It was clear that Luna was panicking and was trying to stay positive but I ruined it with my own panic. I gently pulled her into a hug and stroked her long ginger hair soothingly.

"I'm sorry for freaking out Lu I'm sure everything will be okay. I mean how would they know that you are a Lunae Wolf if you're careful about your powers." I said to her pulling back and cupping her face, gently rubbing away her tears.

Her eyes widened, "Oh, so get this Lunae Wolves have a birthmark that distinguishes them from other werewolves, I was lucky enough to get mine in a hideable spot." Luna pulls down a tiny bit of her shirt near her shoulder and I get a glimpse of a perfect crescent-shaped birthmark on her tan skin.

I pause to think, "Okay, how about this: we stay here for a while until we find a truly safe place to be, we teleport a little ways off our destination, travel by car or something the rest of the way there and then live the rest of our lives together and happy. I mean technically according to you you'll be eighteen in a month since that's when the three moons are in the sky together again and since we are the same age so will I."

Luna thought it over and agreed but then added, "How about we decide to leave on my birthday so that way we decide if we're safe here with this pack,"

"Luna you legit just said they put a tracker on you,"

    "I said I think, there's a difference."

I looked at her and she sighed.

"Yeah yeah alright I turn eighteen and we bounce I agree,"

I rolled my eyes playfully at her words giving her a smirk. We then headed off back into the camp before anyone could question us.
