A swarm of people in white clothes flooded out of Death's room. Some had big grins, while others had slumped shoulders and pouts.

I craned my neck and searched for Alex. After a few moments, I found her. She was walking next to a guy, talking animatedly.

"I think being a Receiver is cool!" she argued. "I get to help people and bring them here to help the cause."

"Yeah, right. Everyone knows where the real action is; it's fighting with the Guardians!"

"Alex!" I called out.

She smiled and jogged over to me.
Before I could take it all in, she wrapped her arms around my torso and squeezed me. She hugged me.
I tried pushing her away, but she wouldn't budge. I really hated it when she did this. Secretly, I loved it, though.

"Aright, Alex. Get off me. GET OFF!"
"NO!" she hollered over me. "I missed you."

I rolled my eyes. "You were being assigned for an hour."

"So?" She countered irritatingly.

"Who's this?" they guy she was walking with questioned with a smirk,
"Your girlfriend?"

"No," Alex let loose of me and stood up. "She's my sister."

I gave a small smile. "Who's this?" I asked Alex, returning her friend's question.

"N-" She was cut off by Terrance.

"NICK!" he howled. He barrelled
across the room and lifted Nick off the ground. He swung him around and then slapped him on the ground.

"Terry!" Nick laughed heartily and gave him another hug.

Terrance formally introduced us to his little brother, Nick. I also introduced Alex to Terrance.

I didn't know why I didn't figure out they were brothers before hand. They looked pretty similar.

I looked them up and down. They both had the same eyes shape and strong jaw line. They also had a rounded, button nose and sandy blonde hair. They were both very muscular.

But that's where the similarities stopped. Terrace was very quiet and reserved, almost sullen. His silence was very menacing and when his emotions came out they were very vehement, whereas, Nick was loud and boisterous. His joy rolled off him in waves and was pungent in the air.

"If you'll excuse us," Terrance piped up after pleasantries were exchanged, "but I have to catch up with my little bro." He ruffled Nick's hair and ushered him away.

"Later, you loser Receiver," Nick called over his shoulder with a grin.

"Jerk," Alex stage-whispered, just loud enough for him to hear. The she
turned to me, "Oh my gosh. Isn't he so cute?!"

I scrunched my face and leaned back in shock. "What? You just called him a jerk, and he called you a loser!"

She shrugged. "I don't know. I think he likes me, too." She beamed and linked arms with me. "Alright, I really want to see my quarters."

"Okay, okay. Bench here," I mumbled to myself and groped the bench that I tripped on when I was with Shane. At the memory, my leg ached and my face burned.

Then, a smirk crept its way to my lips. Obviously he wasn't bothered by my clumsiness, I thought smugly, he must've thought it was cute, considering he kissed me.

I crept further along the wall towards the direction I thought the stairwell was in. If only I had paid more attention during our trek up there the first time. But no, I had to ogle over Shane and his slightly foxy mysteriousness.
