Late night beach

Staying up
would you care to call?
vent about your friend
turn it to helping me
to not dig my hole
for it is already deep
but to help me out of shore
for we may both be drowning
but in this late night call
until five in the morning
two hours of talking about
our darks
you helped me
keep my head
above the water
so that I may swim
with you
and in time
we
will both
reach the shore
and feel the sand
beneath our toes
once again.
