How Far Is To Far - Part 1

Laurel's POV

Ren, Ryuji and l were sitting on the floor in the gym against the wall as we watched Yuuki and other students play against the teacher's. Kamoshida is obviously the center of attention and is purposely spiking the ball towards Yuuki. He'll be exposed soon enough.

I look over to my right and see Ryuji looking at Ann. He can deny it so many times but that boy has had a crush on her ever since she came into our 1st year of middle school. I love messing with him. It's hilarious to see him get all flustered.

"Still sticks out... Hasn't changed a bit." Ryuji said referring to Ann's hair. I snickered and it took him a few seconds to realize he said his thoughts out loud and played it off by giving an exaggerated yawn and stretched his arms.

"Pretty boring. Right? Ryuji said looking at Ren. Ren just gave him a knowing smile and turned his attention to Ann as well. I looked and felt myself frown a bit

I immediately felt an odd feeling in my chest again when I see Ren looking at Ann. What is this feeling? Why does it bother me?

Then it hit me

Am I jealous?

I can't be. I barely know this boy. There's absolutely no way. But then again, I can't get over what he said to me yesterday that my heart flutters everytime.

'Your beautiful.'

Guys have called me beautiful before but no of them have left an affect on me like Ren has.

Ren finally stopped looking at Ann and caught my stare. My eyes bugged out and I reverted my attention back to the volleyball game. I looked in the corner of my eye and saw him smirking.

Next thing I hear is the volleyball get hit and see Kamoshida pass up the teacher's and spike the ball really hard aiming it at Yuuki again.

Only this time, this mother fucker aimed the ball to his face and Yuuki fell back on the floor hard. Making the entire gym cease their cheers.

"Yuuki!" I yelled getting up and running to him. I get on my knees and looked at his face to see his nose is starting to bleed a little, I grabbed a rag I had in my pocket and pressed it against his nose.

"Come on Yu, I'll take you to the nurse's office." I got up in a squat position with his arm around my neck and mine around his waist.

"Let me help you Hanzo-San." I look up to see Kamoshida walking towards us.

"No thank you I got it." I said getting up with Yuuki.

"Please I insist-" Kamoshida reached his arm to grab Yuuki but I grabbed his wrist and moved it away.

"With all due respect I think you've done enough." I said glaring at him. He glared back at me before plastering on a fake smile and returned to the other side of the net.

"You okay to walk?" I asked Yuuki.

He nodded while holding the rag to his nose and we started walking out to the gym

I look over to Ryuji to see him glaring at Kamoshida while Ren gave me a sympathetic look.

"Thanks Laurel." Yuuki whispered to me.

I shook my head and opened the door.

"You'd do the same for me."

"I'll see you later Yuuki." I said walking out of the nurse's office and made my way to the vending machines in the courtyard. I get there and both boys turned theirs attention to me.
