Trust and Strength

3rd POV

The battle between the 5 persona users and the purple shdow demon was coming to an end.

Ann's persona was very useful due to the fact she favored fire skills which was it's weakness. Laurel's persona on the other hand favors bless and curse attacks. Although Laurel's persona's magic attacks didn't do much damage, her physical attacks along with her melee attacks proved to be Laurel's strong suit.

Ann gave the final blow to the shadow and it obliterated. Kamoshida backed away in fear as he saw that the odds were stacked against him.

"Oh shit...!" Kamoshida yelled and ran away in terror

"Where do you think you're going!?" Laurel yelled and was trying to go after him but collapsed to her knees in exhaustion.

"Wait...!" Ann yelled as well but fell down on her knees as well. Skull, Mona, and Joker got closer to the two girls and Skull immediately started to yell the both of them.

"Why'd you both come here!? And more importantly, how'd you get here Takamaki!?"

"Hey! Is that how you speak to women!?" Mona said glaring at Skull.

"Look who's talking." Laurel sassed at Mona as a reminder on he talked to her that day on the school rooftop.

Mona caught on to her tone and felt guilty. He knew he needed to apologize to Laurel but his main focus right now is making sure the two girls are okay and to get them out of the palace.

"Are you all right, Lady Ann? Laurel, how are you holding up?" Mona asked the blonde pig tailed girl and the dark brunette.

"Lady Ann...? Ann said looking up at Mona. Her eyes with widen when she saw Mona's appearance "wait, what is this thing? Is it alive...? How can it talk?" And... where in the world are we exactly...!?

"J-Just calm down. Everything's going to be OK; don't worry." Mona saw that she was panicking again and was doing his absolute best to ease her.

Ann put her hand on Mona's head and pushed herself up from the ground.

"How am I supposed to calm down!?" Ann yelled at Morgana but her yelling ceased as she realized her appearance had changed as well and covered her chest with her arms. Laurel looked down and just realized her appearance went from school uniform to some sort of warrior look that reminded her of a video game.

"When did this happen?" Laurel asked and before anyone can answer her, Ann interrupted

"H-Huh...? Why am I dressed like this!? When did I-- Ugh, what's with this!?" Ann then squatted back down in a fetal position with burning red cheeks.

"Takamaki-San you really need to calm down." Joker attempted.

Ann looked at him like he was crazy and shook her head. "How can you expect me to be calm!?"

Mona sighed and put his paws on his tiny waist. "Well I'm stumped... A search party will be coming for us soon. There's no time to explain." Mona turned his attention to Skull and Joker. "We don't have a choice, Let's retreat for now!"

Skull was relieved that the two girls were alright but was annoyed that their operation was put to a halt. "We were just getting fired up, and you two had to go and get in the way... Rgh, fine..." Skull walked closer to Ann and offered her his hand as Joker offered his to Laurel's.

Both Ann and Laurel swayed a bit but caught their balance and allowed the two teenage boys to guide them out of the palace.

During their escape, Joker did not once let go of Laurel's hand. Laurel was grateful that he couldn't see her blushing cheeks and even as they prepared the MetaNav, Joker still had a firm grip on her hand. Laurel could've told him to let go, but she left it be. Holding his hand gave this sense of assurance and the feeling of two puzzle pieces fitting together.
