Chapter 12
Katrina's POV:
JR & I decided to take the girls to Build•A•Bear Workshop. Knowing that we just might be here all day. Instead of gojng to the one near Times Square, we went upstate in Palisades Mall. The girls and I walked past all his fans while he stopped to take pictures with a few. Soon as we got there, the girls gasped. I laughed as they took in their sights. Its priceless, to take a child to make their own bear. Sooner than no time I was being pulled toward all the bears collection. Once they picked out their bears, we walked toward the stuffing machine. They all made there's fluffy. Now it was time for them to put the hearts in. I grabbed four hearts and gave one to Peyton, Demi, Shae & Kaitlin.
Me: make a wish before putting them in!
*3 Hours Later*
After Build•A•Bear Workshop, the girls was up and singing along to the songs on the radio. I pulled out my phone and checked all messages. And was completely surprised when Quinn said he agreed. I guess he's maturing and realizing the shit that he did. I took a video selfie with the girls making background noise. I also took a selfie while JR was driving. I posted the picture that I took in Build•A•Bear on the gram. Yes I'm a big kid so is JR we both got one. Soon as we arrived to his apartment complex, the girls got sad.
Me: say bye to Demi & Peyton
They stretched their bye's to one another. Then gave JR or tío, a hug. Shae & Kaitlin already started calling JR tío (uncle), I really don't see why. But if they feel like that's uncle to them, then so be it. JR & I got out the car, before I got in the drivers seat, me and JR had a slight conversation.
JR: I see they got along well.
Me: yeah they did.
I slightly yawned, just thinking about my bed.
JR: so that we did the family thing, when can we do our date?
Me: well I just got out of a relationship, but we can go out probably after season opener, since I'm not working that game.
JR: you sure?
Me: positive.
JR: call me when you get home.
Me: will do.
I got in and drove back home, up in Westchester. Shae was sleeping so I picked her up as I grabbed Kaitlyn and Shae's bags. Kaitlyn changed into her pajamas while I changed Shae into her pajamas. I said good night before tucking them in and kissing their heads. I have mommy duties for the weekend but I love it.
I walked up the hall to my room and changed into a knicks half shirt with a hoodie and basketball shorts. Soon as I got settled in JR facetimed me like he knew I was home. I grabbed my head phones put them before I answered.
Me: hey, how you knew I was home?
JR: I just guessed. But you got home safely?
Me: yeah.
JR: you looked like a big ass kid. Making five bears and shit.
Me: you too but it was for the other kids though. It's all about giving back to the community.
JR: I liked how y'all matched today. Y'all was cute. If I didn't know anything about you they could've been your daughters.
Me: that wasn't planned. I went to get them and they were dressed liked that. So I was just like fuck it. They my daughters for the weekend.
JR: so you say you want tattoos but are to chicken to get them?
Me: yeah they look like they hurt but I when I ask people, they it don't hurt.
JR: who ever told you that they're lieing. But, how about we go to this guy that I heard about.
Me: BangBang?
JR: yeah how'd you know?
Me: almost everybody that has been apart of the knicks that's tattooed, went to him. I heard about him from A'mare
JR: looks like you know about a tattoo artist.
Me: lil something.
JR: but what would you get done?
Me: Dream Catcher & a quote next to saying, "Dream As You'll Live Forever, Die As You'll Live Today"
JR: cool.
We talked about everything under the sun. Just the general getting to know you. This just might be the start of something special.
*A Week Later*
JR & I arrived at Bang Bang Tattoos on Broome Street in New York. This is when the nervousness started to kick in. Just hearing the needles run, makes me jump. We met with the owner, Keith McCurdy aka BangBang, in the open space in the back to discuss my tattoo.
BangBang: so whats the significance of your tattoo?
Me: I always had a dream catcher. The real meaning of a dream catcher is the keep away the bad and bring in the good.
BangBang: where do you exactly want to place it?
Me: either on my forearm or on my rib.
BangBang: The ribs hurt the most, so I would say get it on the forearm. So I'll go draw this up and I'll call you went its ready.
I sat out back with JR up under his arm. People always like to think we're daiting but we're just taking things slow. We both understand that if we rush into a relationship, neither one of us will get what we're looking for out this relationship if we move fast so its all about time.
JR: nervous?
Me: not yet. Soon as I sit in the chair then thats when the nerves will kick in.
BangBang came out back and led me to his station. The nerves kicked rapidly as he placed the stencil on my forearm. He then sat out the colors that he was going to use, that would catch attention, and amuses peoples eyes.
*1 hour & 30 minutes later*
After closing my eyes, listening to Keyshia Cole and thinking I was going to die it was done. Its dope like crazy then the quote that I want is incorperated running along the side of it. After I payed for everything and tipped BangBang, we left and went to eat at panda express.
JR: you took that better than expected.
Me: whats that supposed to mean?
JR: I personally expected you to get squimish and pass out. But you did better than I expected.
I nodded before laughing all because his thoughts was way far fetched from mine.
Me: I literally thought I was going to die. All because I've seen where blood was coming out my body.
JR: you're over exagerating the situation. But opening day is on Wednesday.
Me: I know, hopefully we can start the season off right.
JR: theres no promises.
Me: but after the game where are we going?
JR: just wear something that you're comfortable in. And thats the suprise you never know where I'm taking you?
Me: I like suprises.
We continued to talk like we had known each other for forever. Before I knew it we was on my couch watching Drumline.
