Katrina's POV:
As soon as we let practice go Tyler, D'Angelo, Jahlil, Tyus and Justise decided to walk back to our hotels since we were on 34th street, we did a little bit of site seeing. JR has never called or texted me to see how training was going or if I landed okay. I texted my mom who had Jaeden and they're supposed to be coming to the city soon.
As we we're taking our journey back to the hotel, we were all taking photos& videos for snapchat and personal memory.
Tyler: so where we going to eat?
Me: I actually want some good Chinese food but we all can't have that. So let's go to Little Italy.
Jahlil: a burger sounds good too.
Tyler: pasta it is.
My mom texted me saying that I needed to check some blog about JR. I just ignored it and continued my walk with my framily.
D'Angelo: what time we meeting up?
Me: uhh 7:35ish in the lobby and we'll head over there together.
Soon our walk came to end as we got in front of the hotel we're staying at. We all crashed in the lobby taking a break from walking. I called my mother to see what she had to tell me.
Me: hey mommy.
Mom: um you need check with your baby daddy.
Me: what happened?
Mom: already saying he's single.
Me: tsk tsk tsk. I've been in New York for a day and he wants to be single. I know he's with Chris, so I'll call him later.
Mom: and your son wants to see you soon.
Me: I miss my baby too. Can you guys come to NY in a few weeks.
Mom: definitely and your dad said he wants to come to draft.
Me: put him on the phone.
Dad: baby girl! How you doing?
Me: I'm doing fine and I'm spotting you with draft tickets and VIP passes. I know you dreamed for this day to come so I'm making it happen.
Dad: so where are you right now?
Me: in New York to train the young guys into what the training style are like. But I have something to ask you.
Dad: what's up?
Me: well I know your my biggest fan and you want what's best for me.
Dad: get to the point already!
Me: okay so after I told all the offers that are on the table where do you think I should go?
It was a long pause before he actually said anything and in my mind I'm thinking he's about to say become a traveling trainer.
Dad: come home. They're offering the most, they are making you the head trainer, and you get more flexibility than any of the past organization you've worked for.
Me: so I'll call the organization to set up a visitation and we all can go.
Dad: sounds like a plan.
Me: I'll see you guys later love you guys.
Dad: we love you more.
I hung up the phone and walked toward the elevator. I checked my phone to see it was 3:30. Which means I can take a two hour nap without being bothered. I pressed my floor when I got off the elevator I seen they guys in the lobby talking. I walked into my room and threw my body onto the bed. I pulled out my labtop to see I had a missed FaceTime call from my sister followed by extreme knocking from an unknown person. I answered the door and seen it was the guys.
D'Angelo: hi sister!!!
Me: hey.
Tyus: wat'cha doing?
Me: I was going to FaceTime my sister. But you guys interrupted that.
That's when they barged in and turned everything around in my room. My laptop began to ring and it was my sister calling me.
Me: hi Kels.
Kelsey: hey Kat.
Jah, Tyus, Justise: K-Dubs
Kelsey: hey what y'all doing with her
Me: well I was selected out of a few that will be able to mold these guys into our NBA players of tomorrow.
Kelsey: oh cool cool. So I got news for you and I wanted you to be the first to know.
Me: what's up tell me.
Kelsey: I'm thinking of going into the draft.
Me: NO WAY!?!
Kelsey: yeah I met with my manager and signed to a sports agency and the WNBA just invited me to the combine and from what I hear I might be going number 1.
Me: did you call mom and dad yet. Where are you by the way?
Kelsey: no I didn't and I'm in New York what hotel you staying at?
Me: Westfield Times Square
Kelsey: I'm in the Marriot. But I wanted to ask you when can we workout together?
Me: umm what are you doing tonight?
Kelsey: nothing, why?
Me: 7:35 meet us here in the lobby we're going out for pasta. And we can definitely workout with my group and I are going running at 5 am. So you can crash here. If you want to.
Kelsey: cool so I'll see you later.
Me: later lil sis.
I closed the chat and was cheesing hard. I was excited for her because she's living out both of our dreams. I stopped playing ball because of an injury and she was in the shadow of me and I wanted her to be a better point than I was.
Jahlil: somebody seems excited?
Me: I wanted her to do it to be honest. She deserves it.
We continued to talk before I kicked them out. This brings me back to spending my summers at basketball camps with these guys.
Jahlil's POV:
Some reason I feel attracted to Katrina, her beauty is mesmerizing and it's like I feel that she's the one for. When she was at Duke or even when we did the basketball camps together I never thought of her like that. But she's not with Quinn anymore and her and Quinn are strictly best friends now I don't see why I couldn't make a move on her. Then her contract is up with the Cavs and she talks about leaving them to go work under another organization. I just hope I get drafted to a team that she'll be working with. As soon as I got back to my room, I could only think about her. Me and her sister are pretty close so she's like the only person I can tell at this point.
I looked at the clock and it read 6:30 I decided it was time for me to get ready. I went into the closet and picked out a pair of Balmain jeans, black Louboutin sneakers, white Balmain button up shirt and my black blazer. I ironed my shirt before getting into the shower. After I got out the shower, I got dressed and just looked at myself in the mirror. I put on my black diamond earrings and placed my Cartier watch on my wrist. I checked the time it was 7:33, I turned everything off and heading down to the lobby. When I stepped in the lobby and seen Katrina waiting for the elevator. We already belong together because we're dressed alike she's just the more girl like version of my fit.
Katrina: looked who tried to match my fly.
Me: I just put this together real quick nothing to major.
The elevator doors opened and we stepped on she was staring at her reflection in the mirror that was in the elevator.
Katrina: perfect moment for a picture.
She pulled out her phone and we snapped a few together the last one we took you could say we're dating. She didn't say anything and neither did I.
We soon got to the lobby and seen everybody waiting on us.
Tyler: you guys twinning or nah?
Me: coincidental twinning.
Katrina: yah ready to go.
Group: yeah.
We all got into the Mercedes Benz Sprinter which had tvs showing game one of the finals. Katrina was on her phone texting and her sister was talking to D'Angelo. Once she was done, we all had a open conversation.
Kelsey: you spoke to dad on your next move?
Katrina: yeah funny thing he told me to come home.
Kelsey: DC why there and not LA or Philly?
Katrina: the paper work contract it was right and DC is amazing. As for you guys where do you guys hope to land in the NBA to make your mark.
Me: no preference.
D'Angelo: LA.
Justise: Houston.
Tyus: Cleveland.
Kelsey: Washington.
Justise: wait...your going in?
Kelsey: just graduated I'm hearing great things just got the invite to the combine so why not?
Me: she might be going number one.
We're used to picking where we want to go and this is just different because they choose us. But the females have it easy. Coverage comes in the summer and you guys can play overseas. Get the best of both worlds.
Tyler: not so much, I've seen females go overseas come back and they're out because they tore they're Meniscus or Achilles and missed the entire season.
Damn, that's the only downside when playing sports. At any given moment your career can be over within a blink of an eye.
