Chapter 35: Only Child

Ares's POV

"A-Are you sure?" The most beautiful woman in my eyes asked calmly. She was still in bed but not in the hospital anymore. I was seated beside her while feeding her with fruits.

"Why are you so worried?" I asked her slowly before handling a peeled slice of apple.

"I'm not but... are you sure only Alice be our only child? You want her to grow alone without any sibling?" She asked in worry before taking the slice of fruit and chew it.

"Anna..." I held her hand. She's still as soft as ever and as flawless as like when we were still in college. "The doctor said there's a problem in your uterus. It's just a miracle that Alice is here and if there will be a second child, we don't know if he or she will survive. What's important is that you are here by my side... nothing else matters..." I whispered.

I saw a slight blush on her cheeks before looking away.

"Actually, I really doubt it but if that's what you want then... so be it." She stated and smiled dearly at me.

The door sounded in breaks that made us look at the door. There's the little Alice who is sleepily rubbing her eyes.

"Papa... didi... nuknuk..." she cried but her voice was hoarse. She run towards me before climbing on my lap. Before she could mumble another word, she fell snoring in my arms.

"What an active girl..." Anna smiled while playing Alice's flawless baby hairs.

"She won't grow alone." I turned to Anna. "She has her couzins..."

"Oh... y-yeah... I forgot..." she chuckled in embarassment before scratching her nape.
"By the way, when are we visiting her couzins?"

"Tomorrow night. I'm sure all of our brothers and sisters-in-law are there. I'll introduce you to all of them personally..." I said before placing the sleeping Alice beside her mama.

At the first time Anna saw Alice, she has loved her. It's just Alice who doesn't know her and still recovering and downloading all the stuffs about who she really is.

Anna was kissing her and hugging her so much that it made my heart melt in love and happiness.

So this is what they call perfect family. I never knew it was real.

"I'm nervous, Ares..." Anna said unsteadily while seating beside me on the interview room of my company. Alice is busy on her own room which is just behind us.

"Don't be, baby... it's just an interview for a new secretary." I am looking a secretary who's responsible for work and not in flirting. My former secretary was fired because of trying to break Anna abd me apart.

Well, I'm a man and was a playboy once. I used different women to satisfy my needs and I need different girlfriends to supply my lust. But I'm tired of that kind of life anymore. I'm tired using as many woman as I want. All I really want is to have one woman to satisfy me and that is my wife...

She actually came with me today to help me select my secretary whom we both will trust soon.

"First to interview... come in!" I said after three knocks on the door.

A woman older than us in a red pencil skirt and white blouse with thick make-up came in.

"Hello... papers?" Anna politely asked before the woman handed her papers.

"Sit down." I told her while waiting for Anna to read the papers.

"You are Blessy Sam. You are thirty years old and was lastly working last time at..." I suddenly felt uncomfortable while listening to Anna. This wicked woman's legs was having a contact with my legs. I really hate it...
