Soobin was sitting on the sand, enjoying the morning breeze, around his group of friends. It felt good, to not having any kind of student council works or whatsoever. Even though after this trip, there'd probably stacks of works he needed to get done with.

He sighed and got up, brushing the sand off of his sweatpants and the oversized t-shirt he was wearing.

"Y/N! You have to check this out!" Yeonjun yelled from the distance.

He turned to the sound of her laughters and managed to catch her eyes for a second before she looked away and pretended it didn't happen at all.

His hands began to tremble, and it was something that had been happening a lot to him, lately.

His feet yearned to bring himself closer to her, but he knew he couldn't and he didn't know when he would be able to do it.

He desperately kept his mouth shut from saying any word to her because he was afraid if he said anything more, he would make another mistake and he didn't want to make the situation any more worse.

But it was too difficult.

In this moment, he finally accept the fact that maybe she was not supposed to be his at all.

Maybe all the second-guessing whenever she looked at him with a certain expression was just a silly of him.

But he still hoped a teeny tiny love, even only as a friend, was still present in her heart, for him.

"Hey, Soobin," someone called him.

It was Kai. Yeonjun's close friend. "What is he doing here?" Soobin thought.

"I'm here to give you this," Kai handed him a paperbag. "Someone told me to give you this, on my way here."

Soobin was still startled for some reason, he stared at the bag dangling in Kai's hand for a few seconds more before he took it, "Thanks."

"No problem," Kai smiled awkwardly. "Uhh, by the way.."

Kai scratched the back of his head, hesitating when he was saying what he wanted to say. Soobin stared at him, confused, but still listening.

"I know the past few days had been hard for you and Y/N, and it apparently affects me and Yeonjun too, since we've also became closer with her.." Kai chuckled nervously.

"I don't know what happened exactly between you two, but as her and, uhh, your friend, too, I don't want any of you to just avoid each other like this," Kai continued. "It's weird not to see you and Y/N not being together."

"It also bothers me that I almost feel like it's Yeonjun's fault for the two of you being like this," Kai lowered his head and laughing aimlessly before looking up at Soobin once more and put his hands over Soobin's shoulders. "Fighting! Y/N is a great person, you don't want to lose her!"

Kai walked away when Soobin spaced out after he said all that.

Soobin tightened his hold on the bag's strings and he got a new determination to get her back.. as a friend.
