you weren't anyone's first guess for who kageyama's closest friend was. the pair of you were polar opposites, kageyama was stern and upfront, whereas you were friendly and a people pleaser, much to your detriment.
"kageyama!" you called after him, rushing to catch up to him and hinata as they walked to the club.
kageyama and hinata both turned to look at you, one of them looking a hell of a lot more curious than the other.
you leaned over momentarily to catch your breath before delving into your school bag and producing a neatly folded sheet of paper. "my study notes, for the test you have on friday."
hinata's eyes glimmered as he watched kageyama gently take the paper from your hand before sliding it into his bag.
"thanks." he smiled ever so slightly, warming your heart.
"oh!" you slid your hand back into your bag. "here's that change that i owe you, i got it in coins so that you could use it to get milk or whatever."
kageyama held out his hand, allowing you to drop the coins into his palm. "thanks."
"see you tomorrow!" you smiled, waving to both kageyama and hinata.
hinata watched you walk away his eyes still glimmering. "wow, they're so nice, kageyama!" he beamed as you continued to stroll. "how did you ever become friends with them?"
hinata turned to kageyama, expecting him to fight back at his comment but instead the boy was at a stand still, clutching the coins tightly in his palm while a bright blush burned on his cheeks.
hinata grinned. "goodbye, y/n-san!" he called causing you to look back at him with a smile that only grew when you caught sight of the blush on kageyama's cheeks.
