you had been chatting to suga on the way back from the tokyo training camp, the pair of you just bring up anything and everything that came to mind.
you laughed as a memory from your first year popped into your head. "when i was fifteen and incapable of expressing my feelings, i got a crush on someone and because i didn't know what else to do, i wrote them a letter that said 'get out of my fucking school.'"
suga laughed audibly, throwing his head back.
tanaka turned around in his chair. "wait, that was you?"
your cheeks flushed pink, not realising that tanaka was still awake and sitting right infront of you, as you pulled up the hood on your jacket and turned to face the window, ignoring the looks from suga and tanaka that were burning into your back.
when you arrived back at karasuno, you pretended to be asleep to ensure that everyone would leave the bus before you.
you peeked open an eye to confirm that you were alone, and then you disembarked the bus, thanking takeda and ukai, wishing them a good night.
you walked quickly out of the school gates, eager to get home and sleep away the awkward memory of the bus journey home.
"so you had a crush on me?" you winced hearing tanaka's voice from behind, forcing you to turn and face him.
in the dim light of the street lamp above you, you could make out tanaka's signature smirk.
you crossed your arms indignantly, frustrated that he'd managed to catch you when you thought you were alone. "yeah, so what?" you challenged, making him step closer.
now his face was properly lit, you could see his smirk gad become a sweet smile, accompanied by a subtle blush. "so, i think it's really cute." he explained, resisting the urge to pinch your cheeks.
you sighed. "if you're just doing this to make fun of me, i'll just get going."
tanaka caught you by the wrist. "i know it might be a couple of years too late to be saying this but, the feeling was mutual." he grinned. "it is mutual."
you breathed deeply through your nose, unable to fight the smile that had made it's way onto your own face. "would you mind walking me home?" you asked before ryū threw his arm over your shoulders and pulled you closer to his side.
"anything to get me out of your fucking school, eh y/n?" he teased, earning him a quick, but gentle, elbow to the ribcage.
