to say that yourself and akaashi were in love was an understatement.
between classes and volleyball practice, akaashi made sure that he spent as much time with you as he could, all while you ensured you did as much as you could to make the balance between his school, club and personal life as bearable as possible.
so as was becoming tradition for you on saturday nights when akaashi came home from the gym, the two of you were sprawled on the couch and watching some trashy christmas movies, despite it being mid october.
you were trying your best to keep up with the awful plot of the movie all while, out of the corner of your eye you could see, akaashi was just staring at you, a small smile spread across his lips.
you turned away from the tv to look back at him, a similar smile growing on your own face. "why do you have to look at me like that?" you asked him softly as you shifted positions on the couch to lay against him.
"like what?" he asked you, his lips pressed against the top of your head.
"you know what you're doing." you smiled. "you know exactly what that smile does to me."
akaashi sighed and pulled you closer to him, laying down with you between his legs and your torso's pressed together. "can't help it." he shrugged curtly. "i just love you."
your heart flipped like it was the first time he'd said those words every time he said them, and your smile subconsciously grew bigger. "i love you too." you concluded, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips.
you quietly cuddled against his chest and checked your phone. it was almost 10:30, and you knew soon enough that akaashi would have to leave if he wanted to make it in time to catch the last train of the night.
"it's late," you yawned. "you should probably get going if you wanna catch your train." you told him, despite wanting to remain in your position all night.
akaashi quickly checked his own phone before dismissing it shortly there after. "i can leave it a couple of minutes." he told you, readjusting his arms around your shoulders.
you chuckled. "last time you said that you had to run to the station," you recounted. "it's like you're doing it on purpose."
"maybe i am." he told you absentmindedly, making you look up at him with a raised brow. "if i miss my train then so be it, i'll just stay here with you instead." he concluded making your heart swell.
