yourself and asahi were walking home from school, his arm around your shoulders and yours reaching up to ever so gently link your fingers.
"hey, honey?" you spoke up suddenly, momentarily catching your boyfriend by surprise.
"yes, dear?" he replied, readjusting his arm on your shoulders.
"why do we sound like an old couple even though we're only eighteen?" you asked him, not having an issue with it, but just being genuinely curious as to how the two of your coined such pet names for each other.
asahi thought for a moment, walking in complete silence, only making your anticipation for his answer grow.
"i don't think i can answer that one, love." he finally told you with an apologetic shrug of his shoulders.
you hummed in response, shrugging your own shoulders while you continued to walk. a few moments had passed when asahi finally spoke up again.
"maybe we were lovers in our past lives." he reasoned, looking down at you to gage your reaction. you said nothing, shocked into silence while you felt your heart swell.
finally, you looked up at your boyfriend with a big grin plastered on your face. "that was probably the cutest thing i've ever heard, asahi-san!" you beamed before jumping up and throwing your arms around his shoulders.
he chuckled and wrapped his arms around your waist, stumbling momentarily before he stood firmly, holding you a few feet off of the ground in a tight embrace.
