Five years passed since the news on the Beta males birth, no one were allowed to discuss the Beta males future as the king requested; he didn't want his son nor the Beta to know their fate had already been decided. The beta had been named Kakarot, he stayed with his mother helping with the mundane chores whilst his father and brother were purging with other warriors of the same levels. Whenever his mother was distracted he found it a great opportunity to escape to nearby field to train by himself. He had been told how he was special, and due to his uniqueness he'd never be allowed to fight, he craved it so badly though. He'd watch in awe whenever he saw the elite warriors return, everyone worshipped them. His father explained that only those born with high power levels were ever allowed to join the elite. Those with low power levels were sent to harsher planets, the survival rate wasn't great, however those that did survive and return would have proven their worthiness to join the elite. Whilst the lower class were sent to the harsher planets, the elite cubs were trained on their home planet. Sometimes Kakarot would manage to get a look in whenever the elite cubs were training in nearby field, of course this annoyed the guards as they knew they weren't allowed to harm the cub; however Kakarot had been warned multiple times to not be near the elite cubs especially whilst they were training.
Gine was carrying bags of washing, she looked back at the hut that she had been working in and noticed her son wasn't there. She dropped the washing, looking under the counter, behind the bins, the usual hiding spot her cub hides in. He wasn't there.
"Not again!" Gine sighed as she rushed past the other low class warriors to find her son.
"He's always up to mischief" one on looker said.
"He's lucky he's a beta otherwise he'd of been sent off to a hostile planet, and we all know what the outcome of that is" another onlooker replied as they prepped the meat ready to be hung to mature.
Gine rushed to the field she knew Kakarot loved to be, there he was practicing his kicks on a rock. She giggled watching his determined face, he reminded her so much of his father. As much as she'd happily allow him to practice to his hearts content, she was under strict orders to keep her son by her at all times and not allow him to fight for he had to be protected. "Kakarot!"
Kakarot turned to see his mother with a stern look, he placed his arms down to his sides and looked down.
"I'm sorry..."
Gine rushed over to him picking him up, he wrapped his tail around his waist and looked at his mother with a Sorry look.
"It's okay, you know the rules. You're lucky it was me that caught you! Come on, I need your help" Gine smiled at her son heading back to the hut.
Back at the royal palace, the king was checking up on his elite warriors, they successfully conquered a nearby planet and had sold it on, as a reward Frieza had sent them more up to date weapons and scouters. They had taken Prince Vegeta alongside them, he had shown his strength at just age ten he already had a high power level in comparison to the other elite warriors around his age. This made the king smirk knowing his eldest was already powerful, unlike his brother who the king had sent to another planet. He had no place for weak warriors, even if they were his own blood. The warriors and guards knelt down as the Prince walked towards his father with same smirk.
"Well done my boy!" The king opened his arm out to rest on his youngest "you are going to be quite a warrior!"
The prince shoved his fathers arm off him, the king taken back slightly watched as his son continued to walk heading into the palace. The guards and other warriors watched in horror, the king stood clenching his fist.
"Don't you dare disrespect me boy!" The king shouted out. The Prince turned to face his father smirking watching his father getting cross with him.
"I refuse to be part of an act with you father, you and I both know when no one else is around you don't bother!" The ten year old folded his arms at his dad. The king couldn't help but laugh, his son was stubborn that's for certain. The Prince saw his father laughing as the guards began laughing alongside him, he stormed off into the palace irate that they were all laughing at him.
Bardock arrived back with his eldest Raditz, they walked into their house with the smells of stew flowing through the house. Kakarot was helping his mother set the table, he looked up at his big brother and father. Raditz noticed his brother looking at him "what you looking at weakling?!" He scoffed at his brother.
"Uh..um..." kakarot couldn't think of words to say, he found his brother intimidating.
"That's enough Raditz!" Bardock clipped Raditz at back of the head before he crouched down to Kakarots level "how have you been?"
Kakarot looked back at his mother, she gave him a reassuring nod. He knew she wouldn't mention about him running off to train again. He looked back to his father and smiled.
"We've done a lot today!"
"That's good" Bardock smiled whilst he brought himself back onto his feet. He looked over at Gine who was busy serving their food.
"Another busy day?" Gine asked Raditz and Bardock who looked at each other then back at Gine.
"You could say that, we've lost another low class warrior" he sat at the table starting to help himself with the food.
"What happened?" Gine asked
"Dad had to kill him, he was slowing us down!" Raditz answered all smug.
Gine sighed looking at Bardock, she could see he didn't feel proud for doing it, however if he hadn't he probably wouldn't of been sat having a meal with them.
Once everyone had finished their meal, Gine had tucked kakarot into bed. She planted a kiss on his forehead, Bardock was leaning against the door way watching her.
"You know it's probably best we don't grow too attached to him Gine, soon as he hits his maturity he belongs to the royals"
"I know, that's why I'm enjoying every second we have with him" Gine smiled stroking Kakarots face.
Bardock walked over placing his hands on Gine's shoulders, unlike other sayians Gine had a caring heart, that's what attracted him to her. Usually they mate with those who show aggression and strength, but with Gine seeing how caring she was brought out his softer side. They both watched their sleeping cub, who was completely unaware that he was a beta and that his parents had already agreed to an arrangement for him to breed elite warriors.
