Two years had passed since the death of Gine, Kakarot still gets flash backs when we was brought back to his house by the royal guards. Raditz looked over at his brother he was crouched down by a body, kakarot rushed over he threw himself to his knees by his mother's body. He refused to move away from her, he was completely heart broken. It took good number of hours for anyone to manage to console the cub. When his father returned home, he gave kakarot his mother's chain that had a pendant that looked shape of a heart. It was a gift Bardock gave her when they first met, he felt that it would help Kakarot move on. The 12 year old opened his eyes, he played with the pendant that was around his neck; it was the only thing he had that he could still feel close to his mother. Bardock knocked on his bedroom door before entering.
"You need to get up, raditz and I are needed so you will be staying with Fasha" he pulled the blanket off Kakarot "don't think you are staying in bed all day!"
Kakarot jumped out of bed and got himself dressed, Bardock left the room to get his stuff together. He looked down at his mother's pendant before tucking it into his top.
The prince followed his father to the throne room with guards following behind. He couldn't be trusted to be left alone ever since his father caught him in bed with two others. The prince would always smirk whenever his father brought it up, his father found it highly embarrassing to of caught his son in such a lewd act. Whenever elite warriors would return to report back to the royals, those of similar age to the prince would always blush whenever the prince looked at them directly with a smirk. Rumours spread fast around the elite warriors specially since two were stripped from their grading for being caught. They were lucky they weren't given the death sentence.
"Your highness, we've successful sold the planet as requested. We even brought back some of the technology they were using, we could perhaps tamper with..." one of the elite warriors was knelt in front of the royals.
"Very well, I'll report back to Frieza on your successful mission" the king responded as the elite warrior raised to his feet and bowed. He noticed one of the younger warriors was blushing looking at his son, he looked back at the prince who was sat smug. The king glared at the young warrior.
"That's enough of looking at my son! If you value your rank you will keep your eyes to yourself!" The king glared at the young warrior who gulped and quickly looked away. "You may all be dismissed from here for now, Frieza has taken Paragus and Broly as his prisoners I have a meeting to attend to discuss further regarding their punishment" the elite warriors thanked the king and rushed out. The king raised to his feet as he had a meeting to attend, he had one of the guards escort his son back to his room. The prince paced his room, he was so bored, he opened up the doors that led to a balcony it over looked the streets below. He leaned over watching mixture of classes hard at work. He quickly noticed kakarot walking with his father and brother to near by stall, he looked very familiar to the prince. He could recall the encounter at the forest, such a naive sayian. He raised a brow as he saw the naive one smiling at the young elite cubs running past him, it was very strange to see a sayian even of his age to show any interest in the younger ones. The prince called out to one of his servants, the older servant who had short messy hair and round face, her name was Letta she greet the prince.
"Yes my prince" she looked over at the the prince who was leaning over his balcony.
"I wish to be escorted outside!" The prince looked back at Letta, she gulped she knew if the prince got up to any mischief it would cost her life. The prince turned his body to face her folding his arms.
"I do not want to repeat myself Letta!" The prince snapped.
"Sorry my prince. I'll get one of the guards to escort us immediately"
The prince nodded as she quickly rushed out the room.
Kakarot watched as his father and brother headed off to their work. He sighed, he hated having to hang around not getting to prove himself. Whenever Bardock was beckoned for work, he'd made sure on of his friends were free to have Kakarot. They managed to do rota around it, when Fasha wasn't joining she was stuck in helping with the food stock to feed the warriors. Kakarot grew fond of Fasha, she reminded him slightly of his mother, though Fasha wasn't as softly spoken or as caring. She was like the rest of the sayian race, it was uncommon to show a soft side as it was first sign of weakness. As kakarot helped skin the flesh of their local meat, Fasha was busy going through the other produce on what was safe to consume.
The prince was escorted out with his servant and guard, other sayians quickly kneeled as he walked past them. He saw the 12 year old by one of the stalls, oblivious to all the other sayians kneeling and stopping what they were doing. The prince grinned, this was definitely the naive sayian he bumped into before. He stood in front of Kakarot who was still continuing to do his work, there were gasps that echoed around. Fasha walked out noticing the prince there she quickly kneeled and looked over at kakarot.
"Yo kid! The prince is here!" Fasha called over to Kakarot. Kakarot looked at her perplexed before turning around to see the prince stood with his arms folded grinning. Kakarot quickly got down to his knee.
"You don't remember me do you?" The prince grinned as kakarot looked up at the prince with confusion.
"Well you are the prince" kakarot replied as louder gasps echoed, sayians knew best to never be rude to the royals.
"Um, my prince perhaps we should get going" the guard said as he started to sweat nervously, if the king found out the prince had been around the Beta male again he probably would be killed.
"In a minute!" Vegeta glared at the guard before facing kakarot "on your feet third class!"
Kakarot done as he was told, he looked directly into the princes eyes.
"Tell me, do you remember seeing me in the woods must of been roughly 7 years ago?"
"Uhh...I'm afraid not, I've slept since then"
The guard and Letta looked at the prince nervously, he doesn't take kindly to those who gave attitude back. The prince just chuckled and shook his head in disbelief.
"You truly are a funny one, you are much different to all the others around here. For one, you are brave enough to speak to me like that!" The prince smirked watching Kakarot looking at him in confusion "so naive third class, so naive. It's uncanny to witness a sayian like yourself to show a soft side"
"You make it sound like its a bad thing" kakarot folded his arms looking up and down at the prince.
"Careful boy! You shouldn't speak to the prince of all sayians like that!" The guard stepped forward glaring at kakarot.
"It's okay!" The prince shoved the guard out the way "I shall make an exemption for this one, of course. You should really learn who you are talking to third class!"
Kakarot looked to his side seeing Fasha face palm, he looked back at the crowd who were sweating nervously. He sighed as he faced the prince.
"These may all be afraid of you, but I am not!" Kakarot spat. Vegeta lunged forward pinning kakarot against the wall.
"Poor choice of words! Cub!" He punched kakarot just below his lower ribs and dropped him.
"I suggest you learn your place! Otherwise I won't be as gentle next time!" The prince spat at him before turning to face his servant. "I've seen enough!" He headed back to the palace with the guard and servant.
Fasha rushed over and slapped Kakarot across the face.
"Are you really that fucking stupid?!" She asked as she helped pick him back up on his feet "never ever speak to the royals like that!"
Kakarot dusted himself off, he looked to see everyone whispering staring at him. He looked back at Fasha who looked furious with him.
"I will be sure not to do it again" he sighed as he went back to his work.
Fasha sighed too, it was a close one she knew she had job to help Bardock raise the Beta but the older he and the prince were getting, the harder it was to keep them distant from each other.
