Welcome home . . . Menphia"
Hearing these words, my head feels like it's spiralling into a pit, and everything goes white. And I'm back in the bed room I was in before all of this happened. The library bedroom. Was it a dream? It can't have been. I smack myself. Still awake ... strange.
~Menphia's POV~
Ugh ... I feel like I've had a ten year hangover. Like, damn. I open my eyes to find Enki staring at me. Obviously this bastard brought me back. It's something Enki would do. I look around at the room I'm in, and my eyes settle down on the photo in his hand. I arch my eyebrow elegantly, looking at it.
"You showed my new host that photo?" I say, liking the sound of my own voice instead of some godly, echoing voice speaking for me when I'm in my relic.
"Yes." He says bluntly. I roll my eyes and walk up to him to look at it. That day was the best ...
Since I'm originally from Greece, I decided to take them to Puanepsia, a festival celebrating the late Autumn fruit gathering and seeking divine blessings for the next autumn sow. It was a magical day. Me and Irene dressed up in white gowns with brown plaited sandals, a thin gold band circling our upper arm. Irene had her hair in two braids, white flowers and golden thread laced through it, and because I'm not into that sort of stuff, my hair was loose with a white flower crown made out of real white lilies and roses with a vine as the actual headband. The boys dressed in white Greek toga's and I lended them each a golden leaf crown - apart from Shad, but our hatred of each other was mutual ... so that doesn't matter. We celebrated the day away and then I took them to my favourite monument, The Parthenon.
It looked beautiful in the sunset, the reds and golds of the sky contrasting with it's white columns that stand high and proud. I showed Enki and Kul'zak around while Esmund, Irene, and Shad explored on their own. It was one of the best nights of my life.
"You could've at least showed her the better one" I say, after a few seconds of remembering that day, and I allow myself to smile slightly before sitting on the floor.
"That is the better one. Plus, you look completely fine in it." He says, befor closing the display case, and signalling me to leave the room. I take one last glance at Kul'zak and Esmund's relics before walking out into the hallway I so very much missed from my former life. I sigh, missing my own body. But nothing can be done about that so ... oh well.
As we walk, I look around the library. Of course nothing has changed. I sigh softly and he hears me. He chuckles softly.
"Miss this place?" He asks me with a teasing grin. He already knows the answer. Of course I have.
"To a certain extent Valkrum." I say back, smiling slightly. He leads me into the main library and smiles slightly before his face going serious again.
"Menphia." That's all he says before sitting down in the corner of the room, staring at me. I must've looked slightly confused because he suddenly started to speak. "I am telling you what Travis said I must say to you about this. Katelyn and Travis ... are kind of very good friends. That means they need to see each other regularly, as it's always been. Yeah ...?"
"Fine. But I won't like it. I've been stuck in my relic for 10 long years. How about I come back next Sunday?" I say, frowning slightly, but I get why it has to be done. It's only fair on Katelyn. She can't be cooped up in that relic forever. Coming from first-hand experience, that sucks.
"Come back?" He asks, tilting his head slightly and looking at me. I sigh and roll my eyes.
"I'm not you prisoner, you can't force me to stay here." Not like you did with Katelyn and all the other girls. Plus, it's been ten years since I was last free like this. I need to explore." I say, walking towards the entrance. I raise my hand up in a wave as I walk outside, smiling slightly as the fresh mountain chill hits my face.
"I never said you was" He says, following me out of the library. We walk down the cold trail of the mountain, down to the port of the village it's in. My plan is to go to Phoenix Drop and stay there for the night. But who knows ... I travel a lot. And I haven't been out for ages. Plus Enki can sense my relic, so he knows where I am if he needs me.
"Next Sunday Valkrum"
