"Cal?" Happy called through the house.

He could hear the twins crying but Callie was no where to be found. He calmed the twins quickly, laying them back down before hunting for his wife. "Callie?!" He yelled.

Still not getting an answer Happy's heart began to race. He walked into the bedroom but nothing seemed off except for the bathroom light. He wandering into the bathroom and dropped to his knees at the sight before him. Callie was sprawled out on the bathroom floor in nothing but a towel. Her hair still drenched meaning she had just gotten out of the shower recently. He immediately checked for a pulse and found one but it was weak.

He yanked his cell from his pocket and called for an ambulance. He called Gemma immediately afterward and had her come to watch the twins. Happy held his wife keeping his fingers over her pulse and watching her shallow breathing.

The rest was a complete blur, Gemma arriving just as Callie was being pushed into the ambulance. Leaving in the ambulance clutching his wifes' hand praying to whatever the fuck existed that she would be okay. The arrival at the hospital, Callie was ripped away from him and rushed off.

Happy could no longer hold himself up as he collapsed on the entry way floor of the ER. He just sat on his knees with his eyes wide and head spinning. "Son? Are you alright?" An older gentleman asked stepping up to him.

Happy looked up at him. "No." He rasped.

"Come on son. Let's get you a coffee while they work on your wife." He told Happy comfortingly.

Happy nodded and got to his feet. Moving like a robot he followed the old man to the cafeteria where they got coffee and headed back to the waiting room. "How'd you know she was my wife?" Happy asked as they sat down.

"Because twenty years ago I was on that same position. Found my wife collapsed at home. Our kids screaming and no one tending to them. She died that night... I raised our triplets by myself..." He explained.

Happy felt like he'd been gut shot the second he said his wife had died. "Ho-How'd she die?" Happy asked not really sure he wanted to hear the answer.

"I didn't find her in time... They couldn't repair her lung or heart in time." He told him lifting a wrinkled hand to place on Happy's shoulder.

"When I found her, her heart was barely beating and she was breathing shallow..." Happy told him.

"Well, I think you have better luck than I did son." He said pointing forward making Happy look up as a doctor approached him.

Happy jumped up as the doctor stopped in front of him. "Is she okay?" Happy asked quickly.

"She's fine. She fell getting out of the shower and broke four ribs. One of her ribs punctured her lung just slightly making her heart slow and her breathing. We've repaired the lung and her heart stabilized. We had to place pins to force the ribs to heal in place so she'll never be able to have an MRI but she is going to be just fine. She's in recovery room twelve." The doctor explained the whole thing to him.

"Thank you." Happy said to the man before turning to the older gentleman. "Thank you sir. For talking to me."

"Of course son. Go be with your wife. Remind her how much you love her." He told Happy.

Happy nodded at the older man and ran for his wife's room. He say his wife laying in the bed asleep. A breathing tube under her nose, monitors attached to her. Happy breathed a heavy sigh of relief seeing her. He stepped to her side and took her hand.

"Are you Mr. Lowman?" A nurse asked entering the room. Happy nodded and she smiled at him. "Your wife has a mild concussion as well as the broken ribs and will need to be held here for observation for at least four days. Due to the medication we have to give her she will be unable to continue breastfeeding your twins. Other than that she cannot have an strenuous activity for at least eight weeks. That includes lifting the children, working out, sex, et cetra. She will need someone home with her at all times for the next eight weeks. Once she wakes up we will be moving her to another room for the duration of her observation."

Happy nodded at her in thanks before she left. Happy's eyes moved back to his wife as he stroked her knuckles with his thumb. Her heart monitor beeping was the only sound to be heard in the room until Happy let out an involuntary sob.

His body and emotions betraying him as hot, salty tears rolled down his face. He was so close to loosing her tonight... All because she slipped in the god damn shower... If he had've been minutes later he may not be here listening to her heart monitor beeping or watching her sleep peacefully... If he had been moments later he'd be saying goodbye to her cold body and trying to figure out how to care for their six month old twins by himself...

Happy cried. A release of the fear, the worry. A cry of sadness that he'd nearly lost his wife. A cry of happiness that he hadn't. Happy felt a hand on his shoulder as his head was bowed to her hand. He knew who it was immediately. Without having to look, it was the only other person's touch in the would that could calm him.

"Mijo..." Rose whispered wrapping an arm around her son.

"How'd you find out Ma?" Happy asked wiping his face.

"Gemma called. Said you would need me and Maria around for a while. Maria is at home with the babies. Gemma dropped me off." She said getting herself a chair and sitting beside her son.

"Thanks Ma." Happy sighed.

"She'll be okay Mijo... I know she will." Rose whispered hugging her son.

"Ugh... Qu'est-il arrivé?" (What happened?)
