Chapter 6
-Peeta's POV-
After I dropped Iris at Katniss's House I get bored. I scroll through Facebook and see Katniss has posted a video. I click on it and start listening.
"This is Katniss Everdeen. To everyone I'm not a slut and I'm not a teen mom. Iris is my niece who I take care of. My sister Aster and her husband passed away because of a shooting. I never knew them but I owe her this. She probably helped out with me when I was just a little baby. Iris needs me now. I only had one boyfriend and he hated me so I broke up with him! Delly made me dress like that because she wanted a BFF who would be just like her. I'm not going to kill myself. I had a hard past. My parents died and I had to live with my cousin when my sister lived with my other cousin. I just want to sing something to you guys." She says and picks up her guitar.
She sings human by Christina Perri. I see something different in her then Delly.
Then it hits me. She's not like Delly at all. When she walks around school wearing those things, she feels uncomfortable. She doesn't throw herself at boys. I never even see her around a boy. I need to talk to her. I grab my shoes and shove them on. I start running out to the house next door. Katniss bought the house next to mine.
I knock on the door. No answer. I out my ear to the door. I can hear soft singing. It's around midnight. I back up and look up to the 5th floor. I see Katniss in a white tank top, plaid blue pajama pants, and her hair in a messy ponytail. She is by the window holding Iris, rocking gently.
She is singing her to sleep. Katniss is singing Safe and Sound. When she puts Iris in her crib I grab a pebble and throw it at her window. She looks out and sees me. She pulls up the window.
"What are you doing Peeta?" She asks.
I smile.
"What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out

What's going on in that beautiful mind

She looks at me in awe. "Katniss Everdeen, I can't hide my feelings anymore. I love you so much it hurts. Would you be my girlfriend?" I ask.
She cries and nods. I blow a kiss and she catches it. She closes the window and skips away.
Love is all I feel now.
