I heard her sigh clearly and it only made me return the gesture.
“It’s true, as I have told you before, this place is dangerous. In reality.. you know what? We all are in a big danger. Does this place look at peace to you? It’s not…and we believe it will never be either.”
I turned my glare at her and spoke in a soft tone.
“If everyone else can handle living in here, then why can’t I too? If you say I belong then it means I shouldn’t leave.. this is how I see it.”
“I’m glad that you feel this way. Elizabeth only suggested the easy way, everyone has the possibility to choose.”
“It’s not like leaving would be a good choice for me… What just happened startled me though.”
“It’s understandable.” Enya looked around in the room and at the people who I supposed she had known already. “You need to get used to it if you want to live in here. What’s easy to say is hard to do, I know, but that will ensure you an easy life.”
I stood up and nodded to her last words.
“I should go, I barely got any sleep last night and the ruler advised me to rest… she must know what she’s saying.”
“Take care, you can find me later right in here. If not just wait for me on the hill, I will be there for sure. Don't forget, tell me everything so I can help you.”
I turned around and made my way to the exit. With the corner of my eye I caught some guys moving to Enya’s table which made me feel a bit skeptical. Were they waiting for me to leave? Maybe I was worrying for nothing.
I walked and I walked alone on another street surrounded by enormous linden trees, a street which looked like it would make me reach my block quicker. Once again I had the pleasure to see the island in its splendor. It didn’t look dangerous, quite the opposite.. it felt warm and welcoming. The sunshine peeking through the tall trees’ branches were giving out an unique atmosphere. The houses, blocks and streets were looking so peaceful..so calm.
I guess it was a right thing to say "never judge by the cover".
With my mind being somewhere else, I reached my block, I went up the stairs to my beloved apartment. I was finally back home, the place I hadn’t wished to leave before that sunrise.
I pulled the curtains and I laid on the bed, staring at the wall and thinking about everything that was going on right then. I closed my eyes as I was already drifting away.
Mist…thick mist was surrounding me, but just for a short while. The sky was grey and the sun’s light could barely be noticed under those clouds. I was dreaming again, I was aware of it again…and I could control it anew.
My shoes were missing as well as my shirt, all I was wearing was a big pair of sweatpants, and it was cold. My body was freezing and it felt all so real, yet I knew it was a dream…
I was in the middle of a long empty street, being placed right in between razed old skyscrapers. My surroundings were filled with broken cars, weird objects, stones and branches…glass shards and tons of pieces. Broken glass and broken windows, everything was torn apart.
In the darkness, at the end of the road was standing the tall and dark figure, he stared right at me… he then turned slowly and walked away.
I had the urge to stop him and ask him.. who was he? What was he? Why was he haunting my dream once again?
I made my way and I stepped without fear on the shattered glass. With each step the little shards were piercing through my skin and the pain felt real but I couldn’t stop myself from following him. I was warming my feet in my own flowing blood caused by the wounds and never-ending cuts.
The more I was approaching the faster he would move away from me so I started running over the glass, stones, branches… Nothing could stop me.
But he was running so fast, he was so far away in such a short time..
All at once I tripped and fell on my knees and then on my stomach letting the glass wound my entire body. The scent of my blood filled my nostrils and I closed my eyes.
I felt surrounded, I felt lonely, I felt danger, my fear and my fast heart beating.
The pain and breathtaking shadow figure.
I woke up.
My entire body was hurting, it was the same type of connection I had had in the other dream. The wounds I would get would hurt me, but they weren’t there in my reality. I was puzzled, I couldn’t blame it on anything or connect it with anything.
And who was he? The shadowy figure of a tall man… mysterious and dark.
I was shaking in my own concern and confusion, but as always, I had to blame it on a simple nightmare, nothing more than that.
I stood up weakly and made my way to the bathroom. I stared into the mirror to make sure that I had no wound over my entire body.
There was nothing yet the ache was overwhelming, how was that even possible?
A thought went through my head as I was splashing my face with cold water. Enya and Elizabeth were willing to listen to me and to help me out, so I knew I had to detail every thing that happened to me, including my dreams.
I sprinted into my room and while the dream was still clear in my head I started writing it down in a notebook. Every single detail that I could of noticed ended up in being written down, as well as the date.
To be even more sure I had to write the previous dream together with.
