OK, this chapter is made specifically for those who are not aware of the things in the Halo Universe. I am listing all possible things that I will use in the story. I will be updating it as much as I can with new information so make sure to keep a lookout.

UNSC- Short for the United Nations Space Command. It is the military, exploratory, and scientific agency of the United Earth Government. Strong both in technology and numbers, they helped colonize worlds for humanity in both the outer and inner colonies. Were at a war with the insurrectionists before the Human-Covenant War.

UNSC Marines- A rugged and diverse assortment of well-equipped and well trained men and women, one of the Marine Corps most notable conflicts was fighting a losing war against the technologically superior Covenant Army. The backbone of the UNSC military, they are able to adapt to all environments, but can only work under certain conditions. Are good in large numbers, they were a key in turning the tides of battle during war. Although one of the UNSC's best, they still have their short comings.

ODST's- Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, one of the best ground forces that the UNSC has at their disposal. Swift and deadly, they are dropped from HEV pods aboard low orbit and high orbit UNSC war ships. Specially trained and battle hardened, they are equipped with advanced vacuum sealed armor, allowing them to work in low oxygen conditions if properly trained. They are made to be able to fight in any environment, for any mission, no matter the cost. ODST's are generally put into insertion missions or high risk missions that the average Marine would not be able to handle. On rare occasions, they are put into a mission as backup for a Spartan Operative.

HEV Pods- Its name is the 'Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicle' incorrectly referred to as the 'Human Entry Vehicle'. They are used to deploy as single soldier and his equipment from orbit to the surface. Inside is a crash seat, communications gear, numerous equipment racks, a rudimentary control system, and a single entrance and escape hatch. The communications gear allows a soldier to get information on a mission while on the drop while giving video feed to members of his squad. It is made of Titanium-A, Lead Foil, and Ceramic Skin. During re-entry, the skin burns away, protecting the pod and the soldier from the immense heat created during the process. The upper panels separate, acting as a drag chute and slowing down the craft for landing. Upon occasions, the panels due tend to malfunction, resulting in the death of a soldier upon impact. This is often referred to by ODST's as 'Digging your own grave'.

MA5C- The third in the series of the MA5 Assault Rifles. Capable of holding a 32 round clip, it is a versatile weapon that can function in all kinds of conditions as an automatic weapon. Fires armor piercing Fell Metal Jacket rounds that can tear through anything less than a fully armored tank. Although it is capable of lying down a hail of bullets, its accuracy is low, so the rifle is best used for medium to short range engagements.

M7 S Case Less Sub Machinegun- Better known as the SMG, it is a variant fitted with a silencer and reflex sight that allows an accurate marksman to down a lightly armored enemy with burst of shots at medium range. Highly inaccurate when fired in full auto, it is best suited for close range engagements. Has a reduced magazine from 60 rounds to 48 rounds. This variant is also much more accurate at long ranges, as opposed to the standard M7 low accuracy.

BR55 Service Rifle- More commonly known as the Battle Rifle. It is a 3 burst gun with a 2X scope, making it notably more accurate than the MA5 series. It has reasonably high power and a high rate of fire. In the hands of the trained marksman, it can down the shields of elite and finish him off in 3-4 bursts, making it an excellent weapon when fighting against covenant forces at medium range, where most of their weapons would be inaccurate.

SR S99- A powerful sniper. Commonly used by Special Forces such as Spartans and ODST’s. Capable of destroying a vehicle in four to five shots. Semi-Automatic and gas operated, it has 5X and 10X scope capabilities with near perfect accuracy, making it the best in ranged combat. Each clip holds four rounds, and the low spread makes it near ineffective at close range. In the hands of an expert marksman, it is capable of taking down a moving target more than a mile away. Its high power allows it to down nearly all enemies in two shots or less, depending where the bullet has impacted.

M41 SSR- A rocket launcher. It fires an M19 102mm high-explosive shaped charge missile capable of destroying light vehicles in one shot and heavily armored vehicles in two. Has a lock on ability, allowing it to track moving vehicles both on the ground and in the air, making it the ultimate anti vehicle weapon. Large area of affect damage allows the user to kill multiple enemies with a single rocket; fed by a pair of detachable barrels, each holding a single rocket, when one if fired, the second cycles into place. This allows for a user to fire two consecutive rockets before having to reload the weapon. Has a 2X smart link scope that allows a user to lock on to targets at greater distances.

M6D Magnun Sidearm- One of the variants of the M6 sidearm series. Semi-Automatic, recoil operated, magazine fed, large-bore handgun that is controlable even during rapid fire. Operaters can achieve an effective rate of 3.5 rounds per second and the gun fires M225 Semi-Armor Piercing, High Explosive rounds from a 12 round magazine. Its high power, combined with its great accuracy at medium to long ranges makes for a perfect weapon capable of taking down energy shielding of an Elite  in three shots and killing it with one shot to the head or two-three shots to the body.

Fragmentation Grenade- M9 High Explosive Dual-Purpose grenade is the UNSC-issued grenade. It is designed to be effective against infantry and lightly armored vehicles. It is primed with a small button instead of a pin located at the "Handle". The grenade can be effectively hurdled around corners and bounced off surfaces before explosing. The grenade is also made so that it does not detonate until it bounces off a surface first. The grenade's casing has a frangible design meant to break apart into small, regular shards. When the charge detonates, the casing shatters, sending shrapnell flying away at high velocity.

M12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle- Universally known throughout the UNSC as the Warthog; the M12 LRV is a fast, versatile, all terrain jeep fitted with a Light Anti-Aircraft Turret in the rear. Allows for one driver, a passenger holding a weapon, and a rear gunner. Where it lacks in defense it makes up with speed and agility. Perfect for hit and run missions, three Warthogs can lay down enough damage before having to pull back. Other variants include the M1G1 fitted with the M68 ALIM Gauss Cannon, M12R fitted with an M79 Multiple Launch Rocket System, and the M813 Troop Transport Warthog that is capable of carrying up to 6 soldiers to the field.

 Pelican Dropship- D77H-TCI (Dropship 77 Heavy-Tropp Carrier/Infantry), it is the primary tactical support aircraft of the UNSC. It serves as a ulti-role purpose aircraft, fully capable of atmospheric and limited space flight and can land almost anywhere, making it the primary troop transport of the UNSC. It is capable of carrying 15 passengers, 10 sitting and 5 standing. It also has tail mounted magnetic clamps that are capable of carrying an M12 LRV or its other variants, an M808 'Scorpion' Main Battle Tank, and four Type C Ressuply Capsules or six Type B Ressuply Capsules to the heat of battle, being able to detatch without having to land thus decreasing the risk of attack from enemy forces while unloading.

Covenant- The main threat posed to humanity. They are comprised of multiple alien species under a religious Hegemony. The most powerful military force in the Orion Arm of the Milky way Galaxy, they are much more advanced in technology than humanity. Compromised of the Sangheili, San 'Shyuum, Jiralhanae, Lekgolo/Mgalekgolo, Unggoy, Kig-Yar, Yanme'e, and Huragok. Entered war with Humanity after glassing the planet 'Harvest' in the year 2525. This event is commonly referred to as 'First Contact'.
