Castle Swimmer (Kappa x Siren)

     Vien's Pov:

I look at the giant jelly bed in the corner of the room. That would either sting me when I lie down, or be squishy. I take my chances and it ends up being squishy. 

Siren and Suska left a minute ago, so I take in the scenery. There are a few books on the side of the room in a concave part of the stone walls. A giant gaping fish statue is planted in the cave walls, am I suppose to go sit in it's mouth as if it's a chair?

The room is very different from the one I had in the other universe. I remember my pillow, now it's replaced by a giant jelly fish bed. Is this a dead jellyfish? Maybe jellyfish slime? Wait, do jellyfish even give out slime? Why am I focusing on such trivial questions?

Instead, I now focus on more significant things. Out of everything that happened, only the fact that I remember an unseen episode still puzzles me. I already theorized what is happening with everything else, but it's the only part that doesn't fit in. 

I don't know why the wormhole opened and took me in. But after that happened, I ended up here, maybe because I wished to be in this place, I came here. Is this one of those stories where if I wish to go somewhere then sleep, I'll go there? What if I wish to go back home? I'm not sleepy right now though. 

What do I do? I basically time traveled as well, I know the future of this place. Or at least until episode 39. Am I supposed to change something? I feel like I'm in a webtoon where I traveled back in time and have been given the choices to change the future, or be a background character and do nothing. The story seems to be good on its own, maybe the creator has something in mind, maybe if I change the story, I'll end up making it worse. 

I don't know. Should I change the future? 

Perhaps I should. 

Perhaps not.

I'll let the important events happen. But maybe I shouldn't meddle at all, in case of the butterfly effect.

"Ughhhhhhhh!" I groan into my hands. 

Siren knocks the cave door before asking to come in. I say yes by giving a nod.

"Hey, sorry to bother you again, but I thought you would like a tour of the castle." 

I look at him with a blank stare. Is he trying to get me to steal the key, and then free Kappa? 

"Siren, I know you want to free Kappa, but it's not a good idea to try to get Kappa to escape now." He becomes flustered. So he was trying to get me to help.

"W-what are you t-ta.... Wait, does this happen in the future?" He asks surprised. 

"Uh, I can't say yes or no in case you change your decision on my answer. So, maybe?" I try to answer without changing the future. This is frustrating.

Siren swims over to me and sits on the jelly. I sit up beside him.

"Uh, this is a weird question... and you don't have to answer... but, do Kappa and I end up t-.... actually never mind, haha!" Too late, I already heard the question loud and clear. 

"Not yet, but I'm sure it's a yes. It has to be, because otherwise, I'm making it happen." I put on a determined face to show him how serious I am. 

He blushes, so cute! I wish there were cameras under the sea, I would be taking so many pictures of cute Siren and Kappa blushes! 

"Why do you want us to be together so much!" He is a tomato boi...

"Hah, why not? Do you not feel anything for him? I'm sure that even if there is nothing between you two now, there will be soon." I give a smirk as he becomes flabbergasted. He suddenly gives me a sad look, I frown in concern.

"That isn't possible. I have to kill him..." Oh how I wish I could tell him the true prophecy. 

Instead, I try comforting him with a "I'm sure you will find a way. You are smart enough to figure out this puzzle, and you are brave enough to do anything to protect the ones you lo- care for."

He gives me a smile and I return one to him. "Well, would you like an actual tour now? No strings attached." 

"I'll be honored to receive such a gift from your highness." I bow to him in joke. 

"Hahahahahaha! Oh my god, don't do that ever again! You're the first to ever do such a thing!" I laugh along him. 

We head out of the room.

     Siren's Pov:

I remember the short conversation my mom started as soon as we went out of Vien's new room. 

Flashback:

Mom grabs my hand and stops me after we are far from Vien's room. I turn to face her, but she is frowning when I look. 

"Siren... I don't know if we should put our entire faith in Vien. She seems... suspicious. We should watch our backs around her, okay?" I can't say that I gave Vien my entire faith, but I do believe that she wants what I do. I can't say anything to mom. 

"Siren, please. I'm not saying you shouldn't trust anything she says, I'm just saying you shouldn't trust... everything." Is this about that secret Vien was talking about before? 

"I know mom. I will be careful, so you don't need to worry so much, okay?"

She smiles and leaves after giving me a hug.

After I see her fully gone from view, I swim back to Vien's room. I need to know what that secret is, my mother looked worried about it. Can it lead to Kappa's freedom perhaps?

End Of Flashback

I think of ways to bring up the subject of the secret. Maybe I should try to get on the topic of the future first.

"Hey Siren, what do you think about your father's quest for finding a different way to stop the curse?" I'm startled by the topic and trip on a rock I didn't see.

"Are you okay?!" Vien lends me a hand and I get up. 

"Y-yea, I'm just a bit surprised. It's been a while since I heard someone talk about him." We keep swimming for a while in silence. 

"I think it was brave of him." I start.

"He left us, but he did it for us. He was also effected by the curse, so there was the risk that he would have died if he left. But he didn't let that stop him. He didn't want to kill an innocent being who deserved none of our burdens. He didn't want to kill the beacon." 

"I guess you get your ability to do anything for the ones you care for, came from your dad."

"Actually, no. I take that back. I think you get it from both your parents." She smiles. 

I guess it might be true. 

But that just means it's harder for me to choose between my kingdom or an innocent merfish.

Sorry for the long wait, my internet connection was taking a vacation while I pleaded it to come back.
