I rolled my wheelchair into the room that was to be mine and looked around. It was fairly spacious even with all of the furniture (ex: bed, dresser, computer desk - with computer and an end table by the bed) There were three other doors in the room. I just assumed one was a closet and the one a bathroom. What was the other one?

"Okay," Lyn-Z said while walking in. "That door is the bathroom and that one is the closet."

"What's the other one?" I asked before she could continue. She looked at me.

"That door leads to our room," Gerard answered for her as he walked past me.

"Why?" I asked.

"Well, so if something happens while you're in your room we can come in that way. It's a lot quicker than going around," Lyn-Z said gently. That made me wonder if that door was there before I came here. I know they were just trying to make sure that I was safe, but even at the orphanage they didn't try THAT hard. I nodded glumly and rolled over to my bed. The blankets and stuff that we bought earlier were already on it. Gerard had been painting all afternoon and I was finally able to see my room.

"You like it?" he asked while kneeling down beside me. It made me feel small and weak when he did that. I didn't say anything though. I didn't want to make him feel bad. He was just trying too hard to be a good father figure. I never knew my real father...I think he's still alive but I'm not so sure anymore. Melanie said that he was and that he just didn't know that I existed but...something told me that he did know and that he just didn't want an almost crippled child.

"Gerard?" I asked whiled looking at him.

"Yes?" he asked and looked at me. I forced a smile.

"Thank you." He smiled and placed a hand on my head.

"No problem baby girl. No problem." I smiled at the pet name and kissed his cheek.

"Hey! That's my job!" Lyn-Z playfully yelled causing Gerard and I too laugh. She smiled and walked over. "It's getting late and you should probably go to bed now." I looked at her and stopped laughing.

"Do I have too?" I whined. She nodded.

"We're taking you to meet Mikey and Alicia tomorrow and they live almost two hours away. They want to spend the whole day with you so we have to leave early." I felt my heart skip a beat. I was going to meet Mikey Way? Wait...why am I surprised? He is Gerard's little brother after all.

"Okay then." I scooted as close to the bed as I could and tried to pull myself up. It wasn'r working. Gerard looked like he was trying desperately to let me do it on my own and I really appreciated that. Grrr. Swallow your pride and ask for help Riley.

"Hey Gerard?" I asked and looked at him. He looked at me. "Could...could you help me?" I asked shyly. He nodded.

"Sure." He picked me up and sat me down on the bed. "There ya go. Need anything else?" I shook my head.

"No. I'm good now. Thanks." He kissed my forehead and smiled.

"Night sugar."

"Night Gerard." He walked towards the door to his room with Lyn-Z. She walked out first and waved bye to me. I waved back. She smiled and walked into the room. Gerard looked back and smiled.
