I couldn't help but smile as Gerard and Lyn-Z signed their names on the document, I was now Riley Marie Way. I had a family. I had a mother and a father. I had uncles! I looked at Gerard as he walked over to me and smiled even more.
"Ready to go?" I nodded and he walked beside me as I crutched out of the room. Lyn-Z walked on my other side. Once we were outside Gerard helped me to the car while Lyn-Z got in the driver's seat. (She had yet again won another game of - I'm Driving Not You)
"What do you want to do Riley?" Lyn-Z asked me as she pulled out.
"Can we go see Grandma?" Gerard smiled to himself and nodded.
"Sure thing pumpkin." I smiled and looked out the window. She was my grandma now and Gerard was my Dad and Lyn-Z was my Mom. Is this what it feels like to have a real family?
