"Dad! Let go of me! I can float on my own!" I yelled at Gerard. We had been in the pool for almost two hours and he still hadn't let me go.
"Riley! No!" He yelled back at me. I crossed my arms and glared at him over my shoulder. He just smiled at me and turned to look at everyone.
"Gerard just let her float on her own okay?" Lyn-Z called. Gerard sighed and let go of me without letting me know and i went under. I started freaking out and thrashed about in the water. Something grabbed me and i freaked out even more. Gerard pulled me up and held me to him.
"Shh. Shh. It's okay. I've got you," Gerard whispered while holding me tight. I was still freaking out.
"No. No. No. The water, and...I-I couldn't breathe." Everyone was circled around us now. I clung to Gerard for dear life. "I-I wanna g-g-go h-h-h-home."
"Okay. Okay. Let's go." He lifted me up into his arms and walked over to the stairs. I started to cry. "Shh. I knew this was a bad idea." Everyone followed him and we got into our cars. Gerard sat in the back with me to comfort me and keep telling me that I was no longer in the water.
"Daddy..."
"Yes baby?" he asked while looking down at me. I was sitting in his lap with my head on his shoulder.
"I...I'm sorry. I ruined it for everyone."
"No...no baby. That was my fault. It was all my fault."
