Ted tried to be like a father to Will, so much so that sometimes Will put Wheeler instead of Byers on his homework papers. Ted didn't mind at all, it actually made him quite joyous that Will felt comfortable with him and Mike, he just wished Will was in better circumstances. He wished that Will's 'real parents' loved him and took care of him as he did, but he doesn't know what he could do to help Will, and he really wants to.

Mike woke up first, a sleeping Will huddled up in his arms. Mike could feel his face get hot, his heartbeat speeding up rapidly. He never really felt this way much before with Will, or, anyone in general. Mike just assumed it was because Will was his best friend, and he had a better friendship with him than anyone. Yeah, his best friend. He just knew that's what these feelings were. Friends. Will suddenly shuffled under Mike's arm, Mike flinching slightly from the sudden movement.

"Hey you awake?" Will yawned, shifting under Mike's arm. Mike could feel a gentle smile crept up his face.

"Yeah," Mike replied simply. Will rolled to face him, their noses only a few inches apart. Will was smiling brightly too, his teeth slightly showing behind his thin lips.

"How did we manage to sleep almost all day?" Will giggled. Mike snickered, still grinning tenderly as he ran his hand from his shoulder to his mid back.

"I don't know, but it feels amazing," Mike replied, slightly groggy. "If there was a competition for sleeping I'd win." Mike finished. Will rolled his eyes and giggled again.

"Yeah, I know you would, but I guess I would too," Will shrugged. "If I remember correctly, I DID sleep as long, not if longer than you." Mike rolled his eyes but grinned.

"That was just a warm-up round," He scoffed, now tracing circles onto Will's back, who's heart was fluttering excitedly. Friends did not feel this way for each other, did they? Maybe...No. They didn't, but it felt so good just to be close to Mike, he couldn't help it. His heart felt that it was pumping lava instead of blood, a warm feeling spreading all throughout his body. He loved it. He felt as it was just him and Mike in the entire world. No bad parents, no school bullies, no poor excuses for friends, not even Ted, even though he was awesome. Just them, heads in the clouds. He wished this feeling could last forever, no problems or worries. No panic and anxiety. It just is. So shallow but so deep at the same time, a feeling Will could only describe as an ocean, calm one minute, but the next it's crashing waves and stirring about. Yeah, it was cool indeed.
