Will sighed, holding tightly onto Mikes's hand. He didn't want to leave the safety of Mikes's red truck.
"I don't know what I would do without you," He said quietly, looking up at Mike with beautiful hazel eyes. Mike stayed silent for a moment, peering into Will's eyes, feeling his heart dance at the feeling of their connected hands.
"I don't know what I'd do without you either, Cas. You being in my life is the best thing that ever happened to me," Mike replied, eyes transfixed on Will. Honestly, he was beautiful. Very beautiful.
"You don't have to say that," Will replied, eyes dropping down quickly before darting back up to Mike's.
"But I mean it," Mike replied, smiling softly. The urge to feel Will's lips on his own was overwhelming, but he just... couldn't. It was wrong. You don't just kiss your best friend. But maybe, just maybe, he didn't want to be just friends. Will smiled at him. Mike could swear he was blushing too, his eyes fluttering.
He was so beautiful
"You're really pretty," Mike mumbled before he could think, putting a hand on Will's soft face. The instant Mike said that Will's face lit up like fireworks, red exploding across his cheeks.
"Thank you," Will said back, so quiet it was barely audible, looking up at Mike with admiration. "I-I think you're pretty too," Will replied, smiling brightly before hopping out of Mike's truck.
Maybe today won't be so bad.
Mike followed, turning off his vehicle and grabbing his backpack, running out by Will, who stood by the back of the truck. They both looked out at the school, staring at it like it wasn't just any other basic red-bricked building. Will sighed taking Mike's hand and squeezing his hand quickly before letting go.
"Ready?" Will asked, giving a small smile, the anxiety of not being able to find an excuse for his injuries bit at the back of his head.
"Yeah," Mike replied, holding the strap of his backpack, still feeling the heat that has flushed his face.
He and Will continued towards the school, walking into the already crowded hallways. To be fair, it was already seven fifty-five. Class started in twenty minutes.
"I'll see you soon," Will said softly, waving slightly to Mike before walking down the left hallway to his locker. Mike grinned to himself and walked down the middle hallway, stuffing his backpack into his locker and slamming it shut.
"Man, why are you so red? Is it a girl?" Mike heard from behind him. He mentally sighed and turned around, facing one of his friends.
"No! I have better things to do," Mike replied with a scoff.
Yeah, like hanging out with Will, the most important person in the world.
"Like what? Your fairy boyfriend?" His friend mocked, leaning on the locker next to Mike. Mike rolled his eyes.
He was acting like those words didn't hurt him.
"Don't be a jerk, Troy," Mike hissed. "It's annoying," Mike finished.
"Whatever," Brian scoffed feeling around for his box of cigarettes, which were in his front pocket. He sighed in relief. "I'll see you in class," He mumbled, walking off. Mike took a breath of relief. Out of all his friends, Brian was his least favorite, though he couldn't really blame him. Brian was struggling... like Will.
"Mike, I need some help with problem four!" Mike heard a different voice this time. one of his friend's came running up towards him, holding out his homework. Mike laughed slightly, taking Dustin's paper into his hands and looking over the problem.
"Alright, for this one you gotta divide these numbers before multiplying it with that one," Mike explained. Dustin sighed in relief, hugging Mike.
"Thanks, dude," He said before running off. Mike was glad that was quick, so he could go find Will.
Will...
